Japanese 20th C. LNT Katori Masahiko Bronze Lion Box
Japanese 20th century bronze box with a very regal lion on top in the "MGM style". This piece was made by Japanese National Living Treasure for metalworks, KATORI MASAHIKO (1899 - 1988). KATORI MASAHIKO was from Chiba Prefecture and was a member of the prestigious GEIJUTSUIN. Comes with TOMOBAKO, original artist's box. Signed MASAHIKO on bottom. The lion is attached to the top of the box and the boxed in lined in the very moisture absorbant Japanese KIRI wood. The box measures 10 1/2" long by 4 1/8" wide and 2 5/8" tall. It measures 6 3/4" to the top of the lion's head. (ine)
