| Japanese early 20th Century set of small dishes by MAKUZU KOZAN. Each dish is in the shape of 2 overlapping clam shells. Each one is designed with a cloud design done in overglaze enamel on the left hand shell and with one of the famous historic Japanese poets on the right hand shell done in underglaze blue, overglaze enamels and gold. The bottom of each dish is done with realistic detail and design. Even the feet that hold up the dishes are in the shape of small barnacles. Stamped MAKUZU on bottom. Comes with TOMOBAKO, original signed artist's box. Each dish measures 4 1/4" wide and 2 5/8" tall. | |||||||||||||||
