Japanese Meiji Period bronze vase. The vase has the design of a single tiger coming out from the bamboo forest. The eyes and teeth of the tiger and even some of the bamboo leaves are done in different metals. In addition to the bronze the vase uses gold, silver, shakudo and shibuichi. Made by metal artist, OSHIMA JOUN. Signed JOUN SAKU on bottom of vase. Beautifully designed and executed. Comes with original wooden storage box. The vase stands 12 1/4" tall and is 6" wide at the top and 4 3/4" wide at the bottom. The vase comes with a wooden stand.
