AN ATTRACTIVE CHINESE FAMILLE ROSE JARDINIERE, 19TH CENTURY.

The jardiniere or planter is in fine condition apart from a star crack in the side. It is not particularly noticeable, it is more apparent on the inside where it has gathered some dirt.

A finely woven and painted yellow-ground silk panel depicting Xi Hu, the West Lake in Hangzhou. A little artistic license has been used with location and scale in order to include most of the famous sights. A LARGE CHINESE EXPORT 'SOFT-PASTE' FAMILLE ROSE JUG, QIANLONG, 18TH CENTURY.

A large jug of European form with alternately convex and concave ribbing beautifully decorated with birds within a floral roundel. The soft paste porcelain give a fine white surface for the painting but it does exhibit the characteristic wide crazing to the glaze. A LARGE CHINESE EXPORT IMARI JUG, KANGXI, 18TH CENTURY.

A large ribbed Chinese porcelain jug decorated in the Imari palette, made specifically for export to the west during the Kangxi period, circa 1720. The handle is pierced before the firing so that, if required, a metal mount could be fitted. The mouth is unglazed showing that it would have originally had a lid, now lost. ...click for details

A SHIWAN FIGURE OF AN EMACIATED LOHAN.

The seated figure is moulded in two parts, luted together vertically, this assembly crowned with a wonderful expressively crafted head. The body is high-fired and mostly unglazed, achieving a glossy appearance naturally during the firing. A good double snuff bottle decorated with different landscapes below jewelled collars. One top of the pair of stoppers is missing, the remaining is made from an agate bead cut in half.
