An attractive pair of blue & white porcelain bowls decorated with lotus blooms and scrolls in “pencil drawn” style, so-called because of the absence of washes of colour for shading. Each has a six-character zhuanshu script Jiaqing reign mark and of the period. This design is not uncommon but these examples are particularly well painted and are of high quality.

The brushpot is large and thick-walled, certainly a bitong to be used rather than made as a souvenir. It is deeply carved with a depiction of the seven sages in the bamboo grove, a popular subject that appears on bamboo brushpots dating back to the Ming dynasty. A CHINESE YIXING ‘GONGJU’ TEAPOT, 19th ~ 20th CENTURY.
A small Yixing red stoneware teapot, the base impressed with a two-character stamp ‘Gongju’. The interior opening for the spout is a single hole. The teapot seems to have had very little use but the interior is a little tea stained.
The porcelain dish is modeled after a scallop shell with moulded ribbing on both sides. The underglaze blue decoration of flowers radiating from a small central medallion is more often encountered on Kangxi export plates. Chinese porcelain made specifically for export to the West, circa 1700.

A GOOD JAPANESE SNUFF BOTTLE FOR THE CHINESE MARKET, 19th CENTURY
An excellent carved ivory and lacquer snuff bottle with its original and well-chosen stopper.
On one side is found Kannon (Guanyin) riding on a Shi-Shi, the other has a squirrel on a vine. The neck and sides embellished with lacquer. The bottle is well hollowed.
Small Chinese enamel on biscuit porcelain dish, the centre with a dragon moulded into the surface. The lead glaze finely crackled overall and showing iridescence in refracted light. The dish is well made and has a neatly finished unglazed foot-rim. Difficult to date without a published example, anywhere from Kangxi to Daoguang.
