A very fine pair of large Chinese famille rose porcelain potiches dating from the nineteenth century.
This is the set of photographs for the jar and cover seen on the right of the first photograph. Photographs of the other vase can be found under item #4310.
Each pot has a hardwood stand, the rims of these have shrunk over the years and now the pots don't fit too well. They can be displayed safely and it wouldn't be too difficult to shave a little off the inside rims of the stands to make a good fit. Please note that one stand is damaged having lost a foot in an accident.
The jar in this set of pictures is the one on the right of the first picture. It is 20.5 cm high without the stand and the mouth diameter is 12.4 cm. The porcelain is in excellent condition with only a little loss to the enamel here and there. Noted inside the lid are small firing faults in the glaze, this is inside only and a shallow fleabite on the rim. The jar has some staining to the interior, at the bottom. This jar has had the foot-rim ground flat, perhaps to remove some kiln dross. It has a tiny frit to the blue glaze on one handle.
All noted in the photographs.
Please study the photographs.
