A stoneware suiteki, a water dropper used in the practice of calligraphy, by the eminent Japanese potter and 'Living National Treasure' Hamada Shoji ( 1894 ~ 1978 ). It is accompanied by a tomobako inscribed by his son, Shinsaku, authenticating the item.

The simple circular form reminiscent of a mochi rice cake has been given an oatmeal glaze that has fired with salmon-pink blushes.

Approximately 8 cm diameter. Original condition.
