Each stele consisting of a bas-relief figure against a cloud scroll decorated background and on a lotus form base. Marine ivory, probably narwhal, of a rich and creamy colour, the backs are darker. Very nicely carved and quite rare.
The seated figure 5.1/4" high, the flowing ribbon broken and re-stuck on the left side. The standing figure 4.15/16" high, ribbon problem same as the first figure, three age cracks on the back. These slight imperfections brought about by the different rates of shrinkage between the thin ribbons and the thicker backs.Tiny chip to right side of the crown. I am based in the United Kingdom so charges made to credit cards are in GBP ( British Pounds ) and your credit card issuer automatically converts the charge to the currency of your country. Payment may also be made by direct bank transfer in GBP. International Money Orders or Cashiers’ Checks in GBP are also accepted. |
