BRONZE KRISHNA KALIYADAMANA, 18TH ~ 19TH CENTURY.
The bronze depicts Krishna subduing the poisonous Naga (snake) Kaliya. Having assumed the entire weight of the universe Krishna dances on Kaliya’s heads until Kaliya’s wives plead for him to be spared. Probably from southern India and dating from the late 18th century ~ early 19th century. 5.13/16 inches (14.8cm) high. A decent sized figure in original condition. There seems to have been a disturbance to the wax model before firing, seen as a rough area on the front left corner of the socle. I am based in the United Kingdom so charges made to credit cards are in GBP ( British Pounds ) and your credit card issuer automatically converts the charge to the currency of your country. Payment may also be made by direct bank transfer in GBP. I am sorry but I cannot accept a cash transfer payment by Western Union as I don’t have an office nearby. |
