A JAPANESE PORCELAIN KORO, 19TH CENTURY.
The three-legged incense burner brightly enamelled with roundels of dragon and phoenix, the pierced lid surmounted by a splendid lion dog. The base has a four-character potter’s mark in iron red enamel. The glaze is covered with fine crazing, which puts me in mind of ceramics from the Kyoto area. Approximately 7.1/4 inches (18.4cm) high. Appears perfect but there are three tiny stress lines that cross the mouth rim of the base.
I am based in the United Kingdom so charges made to credit cards are in GBP ( British Pounds ) and your credit card issuer automatically converts the charge to the currency of your country. Payment may also be made by direct bank transfer in GBP. I am sorry but I cannot accept a cash transfer payment by Western Union as I don’t have an office nearby. |
