A CHINESE EXPORT FAMILLE ROSE DISH, QIANLONG, 18TH CENTURY.
This substantial dish is beautifully decorated with famille rose enamels. The central area, painted with flowering plants and eccentric rocks, is enclosed with a very fine border of panels of flowers, gourds and finger citrons set against bamboo over a cracked ice ground.
This dish was made specifically for export to the West around 1740 ~ 1750.
Approximately 11 inches (28 cm) diameter. The dish has a shallow chip on the edge, and two smaller, noted in the photographs. The rim is extensively fritted but on this design seems hardly noticeable. There is some dirt in the fritting that could be removed. The underside has a small firing fault with a short glaze line at each end. These are in the glaze only. Please study the photographs.
I am based in the United Kingdom so charges made to credit cards are in GBP ( British Pounds ) and your credit card issuer automatically converts the charge to the currency of your country. Payment may also be made by direct bank transfer in GBP as long as all fees are paid by the sender. I am sorry but I cannot accept a cash transfer payment by Western Union, as I don’t have an office nearby.
