A Qajar Engraved Brass Box, 19th Century.
A QAJAR BRASS BOX, 19TH CENTURY.

A very ornate Islamic engraved brass box, possibly for tobacco, of rectangular form, the lid with bevelled edges. The scene on the lid depicts a hunting scene with the central horseman retrieving a bird from the ground whilst suspended precariously from his saddle. The sides are decorated with various birds and animals whilst the base is engraved with a ferocious battle scene. 19th century.

3.9/16 inches (9cm) long, 2 inches (5cm) wide and 1.1/16 inches(2.6cm) high. The box is in fine condition though the lid will spring open a little after closing. Wear from normal use. Please study the photographs.

I am based in the United Kingdom so charges made to credit cards are in GBP ( British Pounds ) and your credit card issuer automatically converts the charge to the currency of your country. Payment may also be made by direct bank transfer in GBP as long as all fees are paid by the sender. I am sorry but I cannot accept a cash transfer payment by Western Union, as I don’t have an office nearby.
