| This Lovely Oil on Canvas "A Rest on the Road to the Market", Arthur Potter (BRITISH), 19th Century is in Excellent Overall Condition. Typical of Late Victorian ideals of Rustic Country Life . This Painting was executed in 1882, the same year Potter made his debut at the Royal Academy. Potter painted both Genre subjects and still-life's of Fruit and in this piece incorporated both of his talents. Apart from his submissions to the Royal Academy, he was also to show at the Suffolk Street premises of the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters until 1892.
