| This carving is probably 50 years old. The details are outstanding and the quality of the soapstone is also outstanding. The God of wisdom with elongated forehead is holding a peach for longevity. Oily smooth yellow-tan soapstone has very uniform matrix. The piece is small at 2 1/2" tall, but the very fine carving of face, hand and clothing makes this a special piece. | |
