| Lovely and large --- this is a beautiful piece of vintage Mexican jewelry from the Taxco taller of Los Castillo. This silver work of art is formed from a series of repeating links which are connected by hand made jump links. The design centered around a large hemisphere (approximately 1/2"). Encircling the hemisphere are very pretty scrolls of silver. The bracelet measures 1 1/2" in width and 7 1/4" in length. The piece bears the very early block Los Castillo hallmark, as well as Made in Mexico and 222 (design number.) With good reason, the same design but with glass hemisphere details is featured in Morrill & Berk, "Mexican Silver", p. 81. The bracelet has a wonderful feeling when worn --- cascading gently around the wrist. A lovely example of the designs coming out of the Silver Renaissance in Taxco. | |||||||
