Dating to the nineteenth century, this icon is copper, and depicts a crucifix with saints, angels, cyrillic lettering and other Christian symbols. It measures 9" x 5 3/4" and has a dark patina, with the lighter copper showing through on the front on high sections of the casting. The back is very dark, and has an applied tag "sitka alaska 1972", perhaps a date of acquisition. Nice detail and deep rich patina make this a particularly nice example of metal Russian icons.

Measuring 6 1/2" high, and roughly 2 3/4" diameter at the base, this figure is a depiction of one of the Mansion House Dwarfs, figures who were paid to stand outside Mansion House in London with advertisements for the public. Of an unusual form, this brass match holder is comprised of an acrobat or juggler, lying on his back, while balancing a ball on his foot, which is both a match holder and striker. In each hand he holds a ball. The ball and base are a slightly different color, more reddish in tone, and the clothing on the figure is textured with stippling, and changes the color slightly. Unmarked, it dates to the late 19th or very early 20th century. It measures 5" in diameter and is 4" high...

In classic London style form, this teapot features transferware designs popularized by Adam Buck, ca 1800. A woman seated upon a lounge seems to be instructing a child, who holds a book on one hand. Designs by Adam Buck were inspired by his miniature portraits in neo classical form, and the Regency Period was the height of his designs in ceramic ware...

Of gilt bronze, this fine snuff box is likely a master or table snuff box, as its dimensions are larger than one usually carried in a pocket. It measures 3 1/16" x 2 3/8" across the lid, and is 1 1/2" high. The base is slightly smaller, as the lid overlaps and fits tightly on the base. The scene on top depicts a man seated in a chair, surrounded by others, including a man in Chinese clothing. It appears that the man in the chair has his arm over a keg, and seems to be a bit tipsy...
