Measuring 6 1/2" high and 4" in diameter at the base, this lidded stein is heavy silver plate over inlaid oak strips, making a rich contrast between the dark wood and the silver. The three designs around the body of the stein feature bizarre sea creatures, and are well defined in high relief...

This elegant decanter is mounted in a finely detailed gilt bronze base, with additional gilt bronze on the neck and stopper. The decanter measures 7" high, and is 3 5/8" in diameter on the bronze base. The shoulder of the decanter is etched with a ribbon and foliate design, and the glass itself is antique, having ripples and some minor bubbles. The glass base has a star design incised, and appears to have been ground at some time, probably to remove a sharp chip or edge...

On a 30" hand made silver chain, this pectoral cross is Byzantine in style, and exhibits considerable wear, as do the Greek coins attached. The coins bear the head of King Otto, and are likely those minted in his honor in 1833. The cross may be earlier, and also is similar to Russian crosses of the 17th and 18th centuries. One of the coins is a 1/2 drachma, the other two 1/4 drachmas. There is tarnish on the chain, the cross, and coins, but the patina of the old silver is evident.

Dating to the nineteenth century, this icon is copper, and depicts a crucifix with saints, angels, cyrillic lettering and other Christian symbols. It measures 9" x 5 3/4" and has a dark patina, with the lighter copper showing through on the front on high sections of the casting. The back is very dark, and has an applied tag "sitka alaska 1972", perhaps a date of acquisition. Nice detail and deep rich patina make this a particularly nice example of metal Russian icons.
