Measuring 4" high, this dark soapstone figure depicts a standing Inuit figure, wearing an anorak or parka, with nice details on the clothing and hands. The stone is very dark, almost black, and shows natural marks and slight variation in color. The fronts of the feet are missing, so it does not stand, and there is wear and slight scratching to the surface. From a collection of early Eskimo works, with two others also listed in our catalog.
