Printed on heavy woven paper, this map of Russia is from Holland, and the date 1792 is penciled in the upper right corner. There are no dates or authorship within the printed map. The sheet measures 15 5/8" x 10 1/8" with intact margins. The two lower corners are bent, there is some slight darkening of the paper, and the map is folded, with a reinforcing strip on the back. Given the size, it was likely a fold out section of a book or atlas...

In sterling silver, by the Otis Jewelry Company, this rectangular brooch depicts four blossoms or buds over an open work foliate background, and measures slightly under 2" by 1", weighs 8 pennyweights and has a C clasp with safety catch. Lovely arts and crafts design, with fuschia like flowers and a lovely soft patina, the brooch is typical of design of the early 20th century, made famous by jewelers like George Jensen, and Kalo Silver,among many others.

Set in vermeil silver, with Birmingham hallmarks for sterling, this black basalt medallion features the "Horse Startled by Lion" black basalt Wedgwood plaque, this one slightly less detailed than original, and smaller. The pendant measures 1 1/4" x 1 1/8" and is in excellent condition, no breaks or losses, and the vermeil is also intact, with a soft gold luster. The date letter is not clear, but it is likely from the era 1900- 1920...

Of most unusual form, this bright green rope beaded necklace measures 39" and is comprised of a seed beaded rope with 14 interlocking beaded loops (each measuring 1 1/2" to 1 3/4"). It is likely of European origin, and may be of Secessionist design, but is clearly of the period before 1940. In excellent condition, it is a very striking necklace with great color and form, and looks beautiful when worn.

Measuring 18 1/4", including clasp, this necklace is comprised of faceted cherry amber beads separated by smaller faceted jet spacers. The amber beads vary slightly in size, as they are hand cut, and appear to be approximately 8-10 mm in size. The clasp is unmarked. The color of the amber is nicely contrasted with the darker jet beads. Note that the photos taken with flash show a lighter, brighter color, as they would appear in strong light.

Silver vermeil filigree surrounds a deeply colored coral cabochon, on this nicely detailed brooch, with a hallmark indicating Genoa, Italy. It is stamped "800" along with GE and what appears to be the numbers "111". It measures 1 3/4' by 1 3/8" and has a tubular clasp. There is some wear to the gold on the top of the brooch, visible on the raised beads, but the rest of the brooch is bright and in excellent condition.

An early silver brooch from Taxco, Mexico, this piece is stamped "980 Taxco' and has a simple wire and C closure. It measures 2 1/2' wide and 1" deep and is set with an oval turquoise stone. Measuring just over 16" high, this hot water urn is Sheffield plate, or silver over copper, with ebony finial and spigot handle, and the legs and spigot are brass. With beautiful looped handles and tapered fluted legs on paw feet, this urn is classic in form and design. Repousse floral garlands surround the urn and the base is quatrefoil in shape over ball feet. In very good condition, this matching pair of Quimper plates measure 8 1/2" and are signed on the back HB Quimper Frnce, with a + and a dot, which appears to be a mark done prior to 1940. There is very slight glaze wear to the rims of the plate and one plate has a pock mark that appears to have been made during firing (visible in photos). With nice bright colors on a creamy white slip, this pair is a good example of the charm and artfulness of this renowned French maker.

Of richly colored celadon jade beads, with slight variation throughout the lengthy strand, some beads with darker spots, this necklace has a nice older lustrous surface and the silk thread is hand knotted between each bead. With no fastener, the necklace is 32" long and each bead is approximately 10 mms. Beads are all in fine condition, with no cracks or losses. A very elegant and refined necklace, it feels wonderful when worn.

A fine little box of soft celadon green serpentine, mounted in gilded bronze, dating to the 19th century, this is an elegant little piece, with a lovely aged patina. The top has natural striations to the stone, and is slightly lighter in color than the sides and bottom. It measures 4 1/8" by 3 1/8" and is l 7/8" high, and is in good condition, with normal wear for the age.

Very sleek and delicate, this nicely sculptured bronze finial depicts the head of a tiger, and is Chinese in origin, dating to the Zhou (Chou) dynasty.
