This pair of cufflinks is comprised of two different Roman coins mounted on sterling backs. The coins have two different faces on the fronts, and there is writing on the backs, but I cannot guarantee that they are ancient, though they do appear to have age and wear. The backs are marked sterling, and both coins are approximately the size of a dime, one just a tad larger than the other.

From a good collection of soapstone and argillite Eskimo sculpture, this figure depicts a man in a parka, holding the head of a dog or wolf. In very glossy stone, either soapstone or argillite, it measures 6 1/2" high, 4" wide, and 2" deep. It has incised marks on the base, and a sticker from the Canadian Eskimo Art association, which guarantees items to be made by native artisans.

Of very dark soapstone, this carving depicts a hunter holding an animal that appears to be a seal. It measures 5" high, 2 3/4" wide and about 1 3/4" deep and has a satiny surface. The nose of the seal has a slight chip, visible in some of the photos. Very aesthetic in form, it is signed, with numbers also on the bottom. Very sleek and delicate, this nicely sculptured bronze finial depicts the head of a tiger, and is Chinese in origin, dating to the Zhou (Chou) dynasty. Including the base, it measures 3 1/4" high, and is 2 5/8" high without the base. With very dark, worn patina, the simplicity of the figure is quite elegant, and is lovely from all directions. By the internationally known artist, Bogdan Grom (Trieste Italy 1918-), this fine little sculpture nicely depicts an owl, in simple planes and modernist form. Solid bronze, it measures just over 2" tall, and is signed on the back. The surface is mottled, with evidence of a silvery finish, with etched lines on the wings and lightly textured surface on the body. May have been mounted on a base, as there is a hole in the bottom, likely for attachment...

In two volumes, this set was published in 1953 by the United Fruit Company, authors Richard B. Woodbury and Aubrey S. Trik. Both volumes are in black cloth hardcovers with gold lettering and map on front, two folded maps in rear pocket of volume I, with many other fold out maps, drawings, and photos and descriptions of entire exploration and restoration of Mayan ruins of Zaculeu. Vol I has pages 1-324, and Volume II has pages 325-466...

The silver plated medal is mounted on an oak panel with attached stand, and an enameled dart board is set into the silver plate. The wood section measures 4 1/2" by 3 1/2", and the silver plated medal is 3 1/4" by 2 3/4"...

This is a nice and early Navajo ring, made for wear by native Americans, with simple stamping on the sides, two beads on the face between the turquoise and coral stones set in heavy bezels. It is slightly out of round, measures 1" high, is size 10 1/2", and is not marked (the darker spots on the interior are not hallmarks, but appear to be from the original casting)...

Measuring 82" by 107", this hand woven wool coverlet is bound on three sides with fringe matching the rust-red wool of the design. The corners are rounded, and the edges are bound with several rows of stitching. The background is cream colored, contrasting with the tan/taupe and rust/red of the design. The design is possibly Spanish or Spanish Colonial, with horses, arabesques, foliate and other designs seen in ancient textiles from Persia and Europe...
