| One of eight fine engravings from the 1826 book by William Ellis, "Narrative of a Tour through Hawaii, or Owhyhee;..." published in London by Fisher/Jackson and engraved by T. Dixon, this superb image is titled "A Missionary Preaching to the Natives, under a Skreen of platted Cocoa-nut leaves at Kairua". Very crisp and clear, this print measures 5 3/8" by 8 1/2" and depicts a scene from the early mission settlements in Hawaii. Good condition, some losses to edges, particularly at bottom, where it was attached to the binding. | ||
