| One of the finest and most elaborate of the eight engravings from the 1826 book by William Ellis, "Narrative of a Tour through Hawaii, or Owhyhee;...", published in London by Fisher/Jackson, and engraved J. McGhay, this print is titled "A Hula, or Native Dance, performed in presence of the Governor at Kairud" (note error in Kairua). Measuring 5 3/8" by 8 1/2", the image is fine, crisp, and complex, depicting an important Hawaiian tradition. Good condition, minor loss at bottom of print, perhaps the finest in this series. | ||
