| Painted on a wood panel, this lovely portrait of a young girl holding her doll is well painted and exceptionally charming. Signed in the lower right corner, "Leop. Fritz, Munchen", it appears to be in the original gilt frame. The portrait measures 12 1/2" by 9 1/2" and the frame is 17" by 13 3/4", and is in fine condition, with some minor gilt loss to the frame. Though undated, it clearly dates to the very early 20th century, if not before. With soft color, and subtle tones, the artist has captured the sweetness and innocence of this young child, from her rosy cheeks to her sparkling eyes. | ||
