|Carved by a known artist, Samuili Itukalla, this black stone carving depicts the head of an Inuit, dressed in a hooded parka or anorak. It is very well carved, quite sleek and modernist, and is signed an numbered on the bottom. The Inuktitut symbols spell out "Samuili", and the number is E (or possiblly F) 9-1540 (last number could also be a 6 or 8, see photos). It measures 4 1/4" high and stands on its own. The stone is quite dark, and the simple form creates a pleasing and dramatic sculpture.|
