| Measuring 82" by 107", this hand woven wool coverlet is bound on three sides with fringe matching the rust-red wool of the design. The corners are rounded, and the edges are bound with several rows of stitching. The background is cream colored, contrasting with the tan/taupe and rust/red of the design. The design is possibly Spanish or Spanish Colonial, with horses, arabesques, foliate and other designs seen in ancient textiles from Persia and Europe. Of very soft wool, possibly alpaca, it can be used as a coverlet, hung as a tapestry or used as a throw over furniture. There is one spot about a foot square, that is a bit dirty, but could possibly be cleaned with a brush and spot remover. Otherwise in very good condition, no damage or odors. | ||
