Large Vintage OAXACAN Drip Glaze Fish Form Pitcher
In bright yellow, blue, green, brown and turquoise, this large pitcher is shaped like a fish, the tail being part of the handle, with details in relief of the fish's fins and features. The interior is turquoise, nicely complementing the bright majolica-like colors on the outside. It measures 11 1/2" high, is approximately 10" wide from nose to tip of handle, and is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks. Collected in Mexico in the late 1960's, it is striking in color, size, and form, and is a very fine example of the beautiful drip glaze wares from Oaxaca, Mexico.
