| Of cast bronze with silvered surface, this lovely little plaque or icon depicts a kneeling haloed saint holding a crucifix. Before him is a lion, and a skeleton, or memento mori, holding an open book with the letters S T on the pages. it measures 3 3/4" by 2 5/8", not including the attached ring for hanging. The surface is tarnished, but brightens up considerably when lightly rubbed with a soft cloth. No makers mark or other identification, but is likely Continental and early 19th century. | ||
