| Of a particularly large size, 10" by 7 1/4", this gutta percha frame is in perfect, immaculate condition, stamped Diatite, patented December 15, 1868. The oval sight size is 5 5/8' by 4 5/8", and the rectangular backing measures 6 1/8" by 5 1/8". The backing is a fiber board which appears original (though lacks three of the four fasteners that hold it in) and has a notation regarding the image it once held. The decorations reflect neo-classic style, with a medallion of a Greco-Roman head, surrounded by lush grape leaves, fruit, and other foliate and floral designs. In beautiful condition, with fine detail, this is an exquisite frame for either vintage or contemporary photos. | ||
