Printed on heavy woven paper, this map of Russia is from Holland, and the date 1792 is penciled in the upper right corner. There are no dates or authorship within the printed map. The sheet measures 15 5/8" x 10 1/8" with intact margins. The two lower corners are bent, there is some slight darkening of the paper, and the map is folded, with a reinforcing strip on the back. Given the size, it was likely a fold out section of a book or atlas. The full title is: "Kaart van het Russisch Gebied in Europa en Asie." and an imperial eagle holds the cartouche with the title. There are some pencil notations on the back, with numbers only. Nice detail, with territories, cities, regions, rivers and bodies of water all named, Paris Meridian noted.
