Comprised of an Aysk pendant of silver, carnelian, and fire gilt, with strand of carnelian and silvered brass beads and spacers, this necklace measures 24" (length of bead area), and the pendant is 3 1/2" x 2 1/8". From the Tekke tribe of Afghanistan, the Asyk pendant is a traditional form, and this one is a bit more elaborate than others. The pendant is likely 19th century, with later beads in the necklace. In good condition, with lobster claw safety clasp, there are a few scratches on the pendant, with slight areas of tarnish.
