This large (12 7/8" x 11 1/4") and beautiful volume was published in 1985 by Office Du Livre, Fribourg Switzerland, printed in Italy, with French text. Authored by Jean Soustiel, with the collaboration of Charles Kiefer, and a preface by Henry-Pierre Fourest, the book provides a very comprehensive view of Islamic ceramics, from Spain, the Middle East, Near East, India, and other regions where Islamic pottery was created. From the earliest forms of both utilitarian and decorative ceramic wares to the twentieth century, both photographs and text offer an all encompassing view of Islamic pottery and porcelain. Condition is very good, with intact dust jacket, no tears or losses, creamy white cloth with brown letters, all in good condition, with no marks, stains or creases on interior pages.
This is not only a wonderful reference volume, but is a delightful book to read, peruse the lovely images, and should be a part of any collection of Islamic arts.
