Dating to the 19th century, or late Qing, this Rose Medallion platter was made for the export market and features the traditional images of maidens, birds, flowers, and foliage, in six vignettes separated by green and rose foliate designs, highlighted with gold. The enamel decoration is in high relief, with good detail. The platter measures 14 3/4" x 12" and is 1 7/8" deep, and is nice heavy porcelain. In good condition, with wear to gilding on edges and in center, with one very small chip on the edge, visible in one of the close up photos. Has a later "made in China" stamp on the bottom.
