This delightful and absolutely mad inkwell is just fascinating! It is primarily an Egyptian Revival piece, centering the Goddess Hathor (a goddess of music, dance, foreign lands and fertility who helped women in childbirth [ - Wikipedia]). She is wearing big earrings, and her usual headdress. She seems to have a flower in her hair, and in front of her there appears to be a sprig of mistletoe and some other greenery tied by a ribbon with a bow. The pots (which are missing the glass inserts) have ...click for details

THIS IS A STEAL! It’s a 23” long rich 18kt gold chain, and weighs in at 9.1g. It includes an infinity symbol as a design element. It can be used to suspend a pendant, or just worn as a piece in it’s own right, it’s so lovely. The clasp works well, and has a safety latch which closes tightly. Marked 18k on the clasp, though it’s hard to make out – it looks like the maker was trying to include other marks, but they aren’t particularly coherent. In excellent condition.

This is a really nice Arts and Crafts ring, and I’m fairly sure it’s handmade. The 3 moonstones are surrounded by 5 little leaves on creeping vines – very naturalistic. It is approximately size 7-1/4; from north to south it measures just over 1 inch. The moonstones show some signs of wear, as is appropriate to its age, but there are no chips. The marks are illegible, but could be an 8 and a 5 or an S. The ring looks like it’s been resized, and possibly some marks were lost then. The metal shows ...click for details

This lovely stick pin features 3 beautiful opals. The middle one is set in between the wings of 2 butterflies which have a very Arts & Crafts look to them. The decorative section measures 1-3/16 x 1/2", and the pin has a total length of 2-3/16”. The top and middle opals are in excellent condition, the bottom opal drop has 2 inconspicuous chips, one on each side. The top & bottom opals match quite well, the middle one is whiter, but all three display all the colors opals are capabl ...click for details

Here is a very pretty Nouveau brooch in a floral motif. It depicts a leafy branch & flower, all done in 14k yellow gold, set with rare old demantoid garnets. I count 31 demantoids! Most of them have the diagnostic horsetail inclusions which show they are from the old Ural Mountains mines, which were worked out in the early 1900s. Some of them are abraded and some are chipped, as seems to always be the case with these old Russian green garnet brooches. It is 2-1/4” long, and bears imperial Ru ...click for details

This lovely old watch was designed to grace the bodice of an elegant lady at the turn of the last century. The dial is white enamel with black numbers. The delicate hands are gold and the minutes are picked out in gold. The back features a nouveau maiden in profile with a flower in her hair. The edges are adorned with a pleasing pattern. The watch is 1-1/8” in diameter, 5/16” thick. On the inside of the cover are hallmarks: “Swiss”, “FZ 0.800” in a rectangular cartouche, with the Coq de Bruyere ...click for details

This wonderful bracelet is 7” long and 3/8” wide, with 5 enameled panels which shade from dark green to pale green to magenta and back again. In between each panel is a round blister pearl or mother-of-pearl. Each connecting link has a hard-to-read mark, probably a lion, and it also has a mark for Birmingham, and 1909. The maker’s mark is “S&E”. It has the original safety chain. One enamel panel has a small black spot (see photo), otherwise in excellent condition, and a great piece!

This brooch is a very interesting combination of Nouveau and Edwardian styles, and bears a remarkable similarity to a couple pieces by Whiteside & Blank that I’ve seen recently; however it isn’t signed. The pin itself consists of an enameled framework in a design which I associate with the Edwardian style. In the middle is a sprig of Nouveau leaves with pearl berries; there are 2 other pearls on the framework. It is hallmarked 10k on the C-clasp. There is a little enamel loss, otherwise in ...click for details

Here is a lovely lady all dressed up for a party! Her hair is in a bun with a spray of laurel leaves, she wears an off-the-shoulder gown with a shawl, set off by a rose in full bloom. On the back it is signed “PLATA 950” (Sterling silver = 925, so 950 is even better!). She has a nice patina, and is in very good condition. 1” in diameter, not including the bale and ring. The piece weighs 5.4gr or 0.19oz. I have silver chains for sale, if you need one. Circa 1900.
