Here is a fascinating ring consisting of strands of rose gold tied in a knot, and studded with gold balls. One ball is missing, which makes it pleasantly asymmetrical (it took us a while to realize that it wasn’t made that way!). The decorated area measures 5/8 x 1/2” and the shank measures 3/16”. The ring has a maker’s mark (“J.M”), the anchor for Birmingham, the date mark for 1903-4, “9”, and “375”, however it tests as 10k. It’s approximately size 7, and weighs 5.2g...

This very beautiful ring, with a continuous wheat sheaf pattern (wheat signifies love and charity), most likely comes out of the turn of the last century, according to jewelry historian Christie Romero (RIP). She also said it was probably made using a process called “die rolling.” It is marked “22ct”, “PLATINUM”, and the maker’s mark is “B’s”. Size 5-1/4 plus a little, and it cannot be sized. 5.6 grams. It is in excellent condition, and really just fabulous...

Here is a pretty gypsy ring, made from a rich yellow 18 kt gold. The center stone is a diamond, the 2 outer stones are rubies. It has decorative scroll work carving on the shoulders. The hallmarks are for Chester, 1903, and there is a maker’s mark that we can’t decipher. It weighs 4.0g, and is approximately a size 5. The shank is a little off round, and it may have been sized at some time, but it is in excellent condition. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully...

So much symbolism in this pretty jewel! It depicts a crescent moon – symbol of the female principal, intuition and new beginnings; an arrow – symbol of swiftness (think: Katniss Everdeen), Sagittarius, and sexual attraction (Cupid’s bow); and a 5-pointed star, symbolic of so many things we won’t even start! It is set with 11 turquoises (birthstone for December, believed to be good for healing and focus) and one seed pearl. It tests as 14k (rose) gold...

Here is a lovely, simple stickpin with a design based on a Japanese family crest - we believe it's a stylized flower. It is marked “k20” on the back, and tests as a very strong 20k. The flower head measures ½ x 7/8”, and the whole pin is 2-1/2” long. It weighs 2.4g. The pin is a bit bent, not surprisingly given the high gold content (please see photos), otherwise in excellent condition. Circa 1900. Japanese art had a huge influence on the Art Nouveau movement in Europe and America...

This extremely cool and very collectable brooch depicts 5 turbaned “blackamoors.” Made from (unmarked, tested) 14k rose gold, and black and white enamel, the details are picked out in gold (their eyes, mouths, collars and turbans). There is a partial hallmark on the pin, and old repair to the pin stem assembly (invisible from the front), and some damage to the black enamel, especially the two outer figures’ noses and the chin of the rightmost figure...

Here is an intriguing pin in the shape of a lyre (precursor to the harp). The coppery rose gold is carved, with black enamel highlights, and dedicated to “GAO From G.V.” It measures 1-1/16” x 13/16” and weighs 3.6g, with the original old pin stem assembly. Unmarked, the brooch tests as 14k, and the pin stem tests as at least 10k. In excellent condition. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. This gorgeous old Victorian brooch is in the shape of a love knot, and was most likely a wedding gift to a bride. It consists of 50 old-cut diamonds, 5 rubies, and 3 rosy-colored pearls, all mounted on silver-topped rose gold. Weighing in at 5.7 g, it measures 1-3/4” x 7/8”...

This pair of identical rich yellow gold pins would be an excellent addition to your collection of Victorian jewelry! 1-1/4” x 1/4”, they say “BEBE” on the front. They test as 9k, weigh 3.0 g, and the findings are signed “VID”. There are tiny flowers and floral designs at the edges. It looks like the findings are old replacements. One of them has 2 brownish stains on the back, otherwise in excellent condition. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully...

This beetle is in very good condition (though the pin is slightly bent), and is set in unmarked but tested 14k rose gold. The beetle itself is 9/16” x 7/16” at the widest point, and is held firmly in place by 4 prongs. The whole thing is 2-3/4” long. The Victorians loved to use all kinds of organic things in their jewelry, including real beetles. This particular type seems to have been a favorite. They are very collectible! We have been told they are late Victorian, so probably Circa 1880....

This pretty and very Victorian brooch consists of a navette-shaped border of rose gold surrounding an oval of yellow gold which highlights a flower and two leaves of rose gold. It tests as 10k, and is signed “A.J.C”. Measuring 1-3/4” x 3/8”, it weighs 3.2g. In overall good condition, but it could use some cleaning up. This pin came out of an important household in Newport, RI as a gift, circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handl...

Here is a very Victorian ring with pretty scrollwork on the shank. The center decoration is a horizontal row of seed pearls, and two red stones above and below. One stone is badly chipped, and both are abraded. One of them might be a doublet, but otherwise we don’t know what they are. It is stamped 10K, and is approximately a size 8. Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description so please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.

This lovely slide bracelet has 11 (10K & 14k) gold slides, some of which have opals and seed pearls and what looks like coral. The central slide depicts a beautiful Art Nouveau flower. The clasp is gold filled or 9k, the gold paperclip chain tests as 10k, but the round beads are hard to test beyond confirming that they are gold. One slide has a 14k hallmark and a maker’s mark, and one other has a maker’s mark, which looks like an oak leaf. It weighs in at 16.6g. It is about 7-1/2” long, 7...

Here is a beautiful ring, from either the early Victorian or late Georgian period, in rose gold which tests as 18k. The center stone is a ruby cut in an older style, but in excellent condition - possibly a replacement stone. It is surrounded by 8 rose cut and more randomly-cut diamonds that might be foiled, but in any case are in a closed-back setting. Typically for the period, a couple of them are chipped or have fractures. It is unmarked and has a nice patina. The ring is a size 8-1/4, and cou...

Here is a sweet ring, consisting of a flower made of 6 pearls (1 of which is a replacement), centered by a tiny rose cut diamond. There is a compartment underneath, perhaps for storing a tiny lock of hair, but the glass is gone. The ring tests as a very strong 14k, so it is probably 15k. There is cobalt blue enameling on the shoulders, which we’ve had repaired – this ring was obviously well loved, and it’s still beautiful! Size 6. Early Victorian. The photos are part of the description; pl...

Here is a sweet Victorian pin with the cross, anchor, and heart, the symbols for faith, hope and charity. It has really nice detail work in the metal. Unmarked, but it seems to be made of a layer of gold on top of a layer of copper (we’re sure about the gold). The center of the heart is set with a (faux?) seed pearl, and the cross is set with 11 tiny turquoise-colored cabs – they are too tiny for a definite ID. It measures 1-3/16 x 7/8". The gold shows wear here and there, and it has a nice ...
