This necklace is such a pleasure to wear! It drapes very nicely around the neck, measuring 15-1/2” long, with a maximum of ½” in width. It is marked "DANECRAFT STERLING RFG US PAT OFF" and weighs 36.8g. In excellent condition, and we believe it was made between 1940 and 1950. The flowers are lotuses (which are a type of water lily). To Buddists, they represent resurrection, purity and enlightenment. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully...

Here is a lovely pendant, enameled in an intense blue with patches of a much lighter blue. The dropper shades from a pale green through a lighter blue into the intense blue of the main part of the jewel. The back is marked sterling silver, and the dropper is marked silver. It measures 1-3/8 x 1-3/16, and is on a new 18” sterling chain. In very good condition overall...

Fanciful? Unusual? Quirky? Absolutely! This beautiful pair of scarab cuff links is also, should you believe, a protective amulet (according to ancient Egyptian lore). These are sterling silver and bear the maker's mark of Unger Bros, a well-known turn-of-the-century American jewelry maker. Each beetle or scarab is 1/2" by 13/16". Circa 1900-1905.

We love this pin! The colors are so pretty, and the leafy design is so very Arts & Crafts. It consists of a berry and leaf motif, highlighted by a central cushion-cut blue chalcedony cab (thought to bring good luck), with a circular green aventurine cab on either side. Measuring 1-1/4” x 3/8", it is unmarked but tests as silver. It is in excellent condition, although the pin is a little bent. The pin stem assembly may be a replacement, but if so, it’s quite an old repair. Circa 1900...

Here we have a very detailed bat, wings spread wide, ready to flitter through the night sky. In China, bats are a symbol of good luck. To Native Americans, they are symbolic of intuition, journeying, and rebirth. And then of course there’s that whole vampire thing. This bat is stamped 925 for sterling silver. It measures 2” x 1-1/8”. The 24” chain is marked 925 Italy. Together they weigh 17.8g. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully...

Strange yet wonderful, and SO Victorian! Here is a grooming chatelaine from the 1800s. It has a Chinese fish motif at the top, and dangling from that are 3 implements, a tweezers, an ear-cleaning device, and a third implement for cleaning nails. (We just saw a similar chatelaine on eBay that was advertised as a device for opium users, but we don’t think so!) It is unmarked but tests positive for silver, and with a patina consistent with age...

This striking brooch features flowers – probably poppies – with curved flowing lines, mounted on a mother-of-pearl ova, is so pretty! Poppies have symbolized sleep (hello, Dorothy!), rest, and eternal life. The flower is silver plate, and is worn on the high places (we find that those bits actually serve as highlights). The mother of pearl is convex. It measures 1-3/4” x 1-3/8”. The pin assembly is mounted on a base metal plaque, and is of the old style...

Here is a coral garland necklace consisting of 8 coral cabs of graduated lengths and sizes, and final drops on a draping chain. The three longest drops are on rigid bars. The coral is a lovely deep dark ox-blood red, very hard to capture in photos. Coral was believed to prevent bad luck, and to be an aid to meditation. The entire chain length is 15-1/4”, and the decorated portion is 4-1/4” x 2-1/8” at the longest point...

Beautiful, antique, and signed by a famous maker--can it get any better? This lovely turn-of-the-century pendant is centered with a 12 x 30 mm oval citrine surrounded by marcasites, with pale blue enameled bows on the sides and enameled ribbons top and bottom. The dropper is a fresh water pearl...

The coin tests as silver, most likely sterling. On one side we see the face of Friedrich (presumably) and his wife, a Maltese cross, and the words “FRIEDRICH * I * 1701 * WILHELM * II * 1901”, on the other side is an eagle with a crown above, and “DEUTSCHES REICH 1901 ZWEI MARK”. The rest is white metal. The swivel clasp has a mark, which looks like a plow. We haven’t been able to track it down. The coin and split ring weigh approximately .40oz, and the whole thing .94oz. The coin is 1...

Here is a sky-blue enamel pendant with blue enamel dropper. It tests as silver, most likely sterling. It has two shades of light blue enamel on the front, highlighted by silver flourishes. The dropper is also enameled in shaded hues of blue. The enamel continues on the back in sky blue – so lovely! Excluding the bale, it is 1-1/2” long by just under 3/4” across. There are two tiny areas of enamel damage on the back, and a few areas that could use some cleaning, but otherwise it is in excel...

Here is a very pretty brooch from the Arts & Crafts/Art Nouveau era. It features an oval purple cabochon, possibly glass, centered between two hammered leaves (very A&C), all on a very Art Nouveau framework. Marked “DEPOS” (probably meant to say “DEPOSE”, i.e., patented), it is most likely from Germany. There are two illegible marks, one on the C-clasp, and one on the back. It tests as silver, measures 1-3/4” x 3/4", and weighs 4.4 g. The surface of the cabochon is a bit abraded, and ...

This lavalier is enameled in two shades of blue, with a pearl dangle. The front is composed of 3 panels of enamel; the outer ones are in the shape of sweet stylized hearts, in dark blue. The center is a lighter color, and the back is enameled in a lovely sky blue. Overall it is in very good condition, though the enamel on the back shows a small amount of wear on the high points. It measures 2” from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pearl. Unmarked. C. 1900. Comes with a 19-1/2” silver...

This lovely navette-shaped pin or brooch from the Arts & Crafts era measures 2-1/4 x 3/8”. It has a leaf and berries design, centered by a blister pearl of an intriguing shape. It is marked STERLING, and the pin-stem assembly is original. We have not cleaned it, so it has a nice patina and a little bit of tarnish. In excellent condition, and circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.

According to some, this is St. Catherine, patroness of young maidens and female scholars. There is a (“Catherine”?) wheel in the background (it could also be a spinning wheel or a ship's wheel), and a flower in the foreground. Her clothing looks very Renaissance to us. Marked “SILVER” on the C-clasp, with an illegible maker’s mark, the metal tests as sterling, and she’s a dainty 7/8” in diameter. 2.5g. In excellent condition, and circa 1850. Here is a brooch with an ancient Celtic design – two birds with enameled wings, bodies and eyes, with interlaced silver above and below. The enamel is in green, blue, white, and red. It is marked 925 for sterling silver, and has several other marks which are illegible. 1-1/2” X 1-1/4”. There are a couple places where the enamel isn’t perfect – please see photos. Probably a more recent casting of an older piece, and very pretty indeed! The photos are part of the description; please exa...

This wonderful bracelet is 7†long and 3/8†wide at the widest point, with 5 enameled panels which shade from dark green to pale green to magenta and back again. In between each panel is a round blister pearl. Each connecting link has a hard-to-read mark, probably a lion, also the marks for Birmingham, 1909. The maker’s mark is “S&E†for Schaverien & Eastmead. It has the original safety chain. One enamel panel has a small black spot, and one has a small chip in the ename...
