This sweet lady is made of unmarked but tested 18k yellow gold. Spangled with 8 tiny diamonds (the birthstone for April), and with her hair swept up into a bun with whispy tendrils of hair around her ears, she is just charming! She measures 1” x 1”, and weighs 2.5g. The gold is a little worn at the high points, and we had the ring repaired, as it was worn very thin – someone clearly loved this jewel! On the back, it looks as though someone made a groove for testing the gold...

Here is a sweet little pin, measuring 7/8” across. It’s very autumnal, with leaves enameled in shades of green, yellow and orange, alternating with leaves set with 3 seed pearls each, and centering another seed pearl. The findings are original, with a neat security clasp. On the clasp is a maker’s mark consisting of an arrow with a circle at the end, probably for Robert Klitz, of New York. No hallmarks, but it tests for 14k gold. Circa 1900...

Emeralds (birthstone for May) has been thought to preserve love, and bring wisdom. These sweet bright green emerald earrings are unmarked, but the gold tests as 14k. They are 13/16” long, and the buttercup settings measure ½” across. The stones measure 5-1/2mm across. I believe the ear wires used to have hooks to slip into, but those are long gone and the stubs filed down and smoothed over for comfort. One of the emeralds is chipped in the back, but both stones face up really well...

This gorgeous lavalier sports a light purple amethyst (reputedly good for clarity of mind), framed by rose gold panels which could be seen as Nouveau or Arts & Crafts. You decide. It has a pearl dangle with good luster which is interestingly off-round. Measuring 1-5/8” including the pearl but not the ring, by 7/8”. The amethyst measures 3/8” x ¼”. It is marked “9ct” but tests as 10k. It weighs 2.1g and is in excellent antique condition...

In China, the ginkgo was thought to be a symbol of longevity, peace and hope. This lovely jewel features a circle of 6 ginkgo leaves radiating out around a tiny diamond, with rows of seed pearls in between. The enamel is lovely, detailed, and subtle. It is both a brooch and a pendant. The bale is on a swivel; it folds down neatly so that it’s invisible when worn as a brooch. Unmarked but tested 14k rose gold, about 33 pearls, and an approximately .02 full cut old diamond, just slightly chipped...

This beauty is made from unmarked but tested 18k yellow gold. The flower is enameled in black, and it has a tiny central old-cut diamond. There is a little chipping to the enamel, but it’s still quite lovely. The flower measures 1/2” x ¾” and the whole thing is 2-1/2” long. C 1900. This pretty little pin is very Art Nouveau! A lady’s face is surrounded by ribbons and flourishes, some set with seed pearls. It is gold filled, and measures 1-1/8” x 7/8”. Her nose and chin show some wear, and the metal could use brightening up a bit. The pin stem assembly is mounted in a somewhat unusual fashion – please see photos. Circa 1900. This simple yet elegant lavalier evokes both the Nouveau and the Deco eras with it’s lines. It measures 1-3/8” without the bale, and ½” at the widest point. It features 3 dark purple stones, which are most likely glass. The top stone’s facets are somewhat abraded, and there is wear to the metal. Circa 1920. So much symbolism in this pretty jewel! It depicts a crescent moon – symbol of the female principal, intuition and new beginnings; an arrow – symbol of Sagittarius, swiftness (think of Katniss Everdeen), and sexual attraction (Cupid’s bow); and a 5-pointed star, symbolic of so many things I don’t even want to start! It is set with 11 turquoises (birthstone for December, believed to be good for healing, focus, etc.) and one seed pearl. It tests as 14k gold...

This is a classic Victorian pin/necklace in a pinwheel design, with 9 lovely bright dark purple garnet and glass doublets, and lots of seed pearls. It has both a pin stem assembly for use as a brooch, and a ring for a chain. Hallmarked 10k on the clasp. There is a small break in the gold framework, which doesn’t endanger the piece at all, and isn’t noticeable without magnification; otherwise in excellent condition. 1” in diameter...

Here is a sweet garland or festoon necklace composed of seed pearls set in 10 kt gold, with two pearls built into the draping chains, and a longer pearl dangle. The whole thing measures 14-5/8” (and I have gold necklace extenders if it’s too short for you). The decorated section measures 1-1/4” x ¾” including the dangle. It is in excellent condition, but one seed pearl is missing. It’s really hard to tell - I only noticed it when I was looking at it under the microscope. Circa 1910 ...

Here is a lovely French lavalier, measuring 1-1/8” (not including the jump ring) by 11/16”. It features 3 rose cut diamonds and 3 (cultured?) pearls. Marked only “DEPOSE”, this used to be a part of a larger piece. However, the transformation was done very skillfully, and it is in overall very good condition. There is a small dent on the upper right edge, but it’s only visible if you’re really looking for it. Circa 1900. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefu...

This classic brooch features a ribbon and flower motif, with a ring of white enamel in the center. The central pearl is most probably original, but the pearl on the dangle may be a replacement (as so many are). It is marked with the French eagle for 18k gold and partial owl marks with “73”, indicating a piece that was imported into France post 1893 and assayed in the town of Rouen. There is also what looks like a blurry French maker’s mark, oddly. It measures 1-1/2" x 1-1/4" including the ...

Here is a very Victorian pin – 9 karat rose gold (unmarked but tested), wrapped in spirals around a little branch of coral. Parts of the gold have a nice engraved design. The pin stem assembly is original. It measures 1-1/2" x 5/8". It could use a bit of a cleaning. Otherwise in very good condition. Here is a lovely and graceful fairy, made in the Art Nouveau style. While new, she still conveys the design ethos of a bygone era. (During the Nouveau era – roughly 1890–1915 - there were very few fairy jewels made.) She is made from 18k yellow gold, and her wings are plique a jour (translucent enamel). The colors shade from pink to almost white, and then into green. Her golden hair is accented by a round brilliant cut diamond, and at her feet is a cultured pearl dangle. The back is marked...
