Emeralds (birthstone for May) have been thought to preserve love, and bring wisdom. These sweet bright green emerald earrings are unmarked, but the gold tests as 14k. They are 13/16” long, and the buttercup settings measure ½” across. The stones measure 5-1/2mm across. I believe the ear wires used to have hooks to slip into, but those are gone and the stubs filed down and smoothed over for comfort. One of the emeralds is chipped in the back, but both stones face up very well...

This is a totally sweet pair of little Victorian earrings! The earrings are gold filled, but the wires are 14k, and go through the ear from the back (normal for that time period). The earrings are centered by tiny blue stone cabochons, probably turquoise. The cabs are set within little golden flowers. Measuring 7/8” from the top of the wires to the bottom of the cone-shaped dangles, by 5/16” at the widest point, they weigh .9g...

This fantastic locket is a show stopper! The front has a lovely Egyptian lady in profile, wearing a headdress – from which a few locks of hair have escaped – and hoop earrings. She is nestled within a crescent moon (symbolic of the female principal, intuition, and new beginnings). The back has a monogram, and inside it has both photo rings, but no celluloid. That could easily be fixed with plastic. Bigger than usual, it measures 1-5/8”, and weighs .77 ounce...

These 10kt yellow gold cuff links sport an ivy motif – one of our favorites! Ivy is symbolic of growth, marriage, and friendship. The decorated ends measure ¾” x ½”, and they weigh 3.2g or .11 oz. They don’t have any marks, but test at 10k, and we believe them to be from the Art Nouveau period. In excellent condition, and just lovely. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse...

This beautiful 14k (tested) rose gold pin has a floral and crescent moon motif (a crescent moon is the symbol for the female principal, intuition and new beginnings), accented by 10 rose cut diamonds in closed-back settings. The diamonds are erratically cut, which is typical of the era, and they sparkle nicely. It has 2 makers marks: an oak leaf in an oval, and the letters “JR” and possibly another that is illegible; no hallmarks. It measures 1-1/2 x ¾”...

This charm bracelet is a real show-stopper! It has 20 charms. 11 are karat gold, the others are gold fill except the coral elephant and the silver donkey. Check out the photos! The charms are a wild variety from tools to musical instruments, plus a pistol! There are a few rings where there apparently used to be charms – perfect places to add your own. The charms are hung on a modified paperclip chain marked 14k. 6 charms are articulated...

Here is a very Victorian pin – 9 karat rose gold (unmarked but tested), wrapped in spirals around a little branch of coral. Parts of the gold have a nice engraved design. The pin stem assembly is original. It measures 1-1/2" x 5/8". It could use a bit of a cleaning, otherwise in very good condition. I am in love with this necklace! I hate to sell it, but a girl’s got to earn a living, right? It combines an Art Nouveau central panel set with a freshwater pearl and a sapphire-blue paste stone with an Etruscan-like fringe. Unmarked, it really looks like gold, however it tests as rolled gold or gold fill (I haven’t tested the fringe for fear of damaging it). The central panel measures 1-1/4” x 1-1/4” including the dangles...

Here is a stickpin featuring a yummy burnt-orange colored oval carnelian, set in 10kt gold and surrounded by an oval of gold set with 4 seed pearls. It is marked 10kt. The setting measures 13/16” x 1/2", and the whole thing 2-3/8". The pin has a bit of a bend to it toward the top, otherwise in excellent antique condition. Most likely Victorian or Edwardian. This beautiful pin is a crossover between the Art Nouveau and Victorian styles. The Victorians loved to use real insects, particularly these green beetles, in jewelry. The Nouveau jewelers loved naturalistic motifs, but generally didn’t use the insect itself – yet the design of the pin is totally Nouveau. Marked 14k, the pale gold setting contrasts nicely with the green of the beetle. The pin stem assembly is original. The clasp has a nice safety lever; it is bent a bit but still works perfe...

This sweet little guy has a quizzical look on his face, and is just adorable! It is unmarked, but the gold tests at about 12k. The total length is 2-1/8”, and the dog’s face is ½” x 7/16”. It weighs 0.9g. He may be a Weimaraner. They were bred as hunting dogs in the early 19th Century in Germany, and were named after the Grand Duke Weimar. In real life they are a silvery color, but this guy is a nice warm gold. Wikipedia tells us “The Weimaraner is loyal and loving to his family, an i...

This beauty is made from unmarked but tested 18k yellow gold. The flower is enameled in black, and it has a tiny central old-cut diamond. There is a little chipping to the enamel, but it’s still quite lovely. The flower measures 1/2” x ¾” and the whole thing is 2-1/2” long. C 1900. Here is a lovely pair of white gold-fronted double cuff links. Each end is marked WHITE GOLD FRONT BELAIS 14K; TALON GRIP TRADEMARK, and is octagonal, measuring 5/8 x 7/16”, with rigid connectors, hinged at one end. Belais Brothers were amongst the first to develop a formula for white gold (their patent was for 1917). Many think they were the premier workers in white gold, and their jewels are highly collectible. These show some wear to the gold, with a bit of red metal (copper?) showing throu...

This unusual and stunning garland necklace has a rigid cross piece. Above is a chain running through loops over 5 oval amethysts with excellent color, each of which is set in an inverted heart-shaped framework, and separated from the next by a tiny pearl. Set below each amethyst is a seed pearl, and below the framework are 7 draping chains, the central 5 each having a freshwater pearl. At each end of the setting is an additional little round amethyst, for a total of 7. In earlier times, amethyst...

This gorgeous necklace would have looked great on Rose on the Titanic! It features 13 Madera citrines (birthstone for November; it is said to bring joy and optimism into one’s life) – 3 clusters of 3 each, and 4 set singly. The central cluster has a pearl dangle. The rose gold is marked 9ct on the clasp, but it tests as a weak 10k. No other marks. Wearable length is 18-3/4”. Excellent condition. The clasp is a little fussy, but easily replaced. Circa 1910 or earlier. Please read this descr...

This lovely 15kt gold ring has 5 almondine garnets - birthstone for January - and 8 tiny green stones, most likely emeralds (their setting is closed-backed, which makes them harder to ID) – birthstone for May. The 15k (marked) setting has scrollwork along the edges, and engraved shanks. There are 2 other marks which are illegible. The stones have wear consistent with age, otherwise in very good antique condition. Approximately size 7.25, and it weighs 2.3g. Please read this description and lo...
