It measures 1-1/4 x 1/4". The whole thing is in excellent condition, and Circa 1910. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse. Pansies have been equated with thoughtfulness, free thinking, and deep contemplation. Thus Shakespeare’s Ophelia said "There's pansies, that's for thoughts." This little pansy is made from (tested) 10k gold, with a modern-looking 14k bale (which may be a later replacement, making the pansy itself more likely to be an older piece). The enamel shades from dark yellow through to white, with some dark details, and a (cultured?) pearl center...

Here is a pretty lady’s face in profile. Her long golden hair trails down to end with a tiny baroque or freshwater pearl. Total length of the face, hair and pearl is nearly ¾”. This design was based on a drawing by Charles Dana Gibson – a Gibson Girl! Please see the final photograph. It is hallmarked 14k, weighs 1.2g, and is in excellent condition. It doesn’t have a maker’s mark, but I have seen this exact stick pin with Alling’s mark. Circa 1900...

This elegant and very rare ring weighs in at 11.5 grams or .4 ounces. The top (measuring 5/8” x 5/8”) has a Nouveau motif, and no monogram – ready for your initials. (Finding a signet ring that is both Art Nouveau AND that has never been monogrammed is SO unusual!) The top edges and shanks are beautifully carved with Nouveau swirls which are deeply incised. It is unmarked 14k gold, and size 9-1/4. Circa 1900...

This gypsy ring is made from a lovely rich yellow 18 kt gold. The center stone is a diamond, the 2 outer stones are rubies. It has nice decorative scroll work carving on the shoulders. The hallmarks are for Chester, 1903, and there is a maker’s mark that we can’t decipher. It weighs .14 oz, and is approximately a size 5. The shank is a little off round, and it may have been sized at some time, but it is in excellent condition...

Here is one of my favorite lavaliers! I’m finally putting it up for sale after hoarding it for ages. It is quintessential Art Nouveau: a graceful and elegant shape with a flower and whiplash motif. The central amethyst weighs approximately ½ carat, and it is graced by 28 seed pearls. Unmarked but tested 14k rose gold, it weighs 3.3g or .12oz, and measures 1” x 1” at the widest points. Chain not included. In very good antique condition, and circa 1900...

Although this jewel is English, it reflects the aesthetics of fin de siècle Russia, with its pink topazes and demantoid garnets. The fairly large topazes are surrounded by swirls of seed-pearl-set gold, and set off by 4 bright green demantoid garnets, 2 of which are set into the fine chains which connect the top section to the bottom; of the other 2, the top one is a modified pear shape, the other oval. It measures 2” long by 1-1/8” across at the widest point, and weighs 5.4g...

This lovely ring is composed of a cluster of 7 amethysts birthstone for February, and historically thought to guard against drunkenness and poison), and on either side of the cluster, a bezel-set accent diamond (of about I quality) and one tiny half seed pearl. The ring is approximately size 6-1/2, and would be easy to re-size. Marked 10K and signed ECI. In excellent condition, with just a bit of patina. The gold is yellow, despite looking rosy in the photos...

Gorgeous stickpin depicting a woman in profile with a pearl nestled in her curls. Marked 14k, yellow gold, and signed by the maker. It measures 2-3/8”, and weighs 2.0g or .07 oz. The pin is slightly bent, and the back is dented a little, but this doesn’t detract from the beauty of this enchanting jewel. Historical note: Mr. Blank of Whiteside & Blank was a Titanic survivor! Circa 1900...

Irises symbolize faith, hope, wisdom and courage – and they were named after the Greek messenger of the Gods! This stickpin depicts a beautifully detailed iris, centered by a tiny single cut diamond. Unmarked, but tests as 10k gold. It measures 2-1/2" long, the iris is 7/8” x ½”, and it weighs 1.1g. In excellent condition and circa 1900. This sweet lady is made of unmarked but tested 18k yellow gold. Spangled with 8 tiny diamonds (the birthstone for April), and with her hair swept up into a bun with whispy tendrils of hair around her ears, she is just charming! She measures 1” x 1”, and weighs 2.5g. The gold is a little worn at the high points, and we had the ring repaired, as it was worn very thin – someone clearly loved this jewel! On the back, it looks as though someone made a groove for testing the gold. Otherwise in v...

Here is a fascinating ring consisting of strands of gold tied in a kind of knot, and studded with gold balls. The decorated area measures 5/8 x ½” and the shank measures 3/16”. The ring has a maker’s mark (“J.M”), the anchor for Birmingham, the date mark for 1903-4, “9”, and “375”, however it tests as 10k. It’s approximately size 7, and weighs 5.2g or 0.19oz. In places the gold looks yellow, and I’m not sure if that’s intentional or caused by aging, or...? Overall in exc...

Very much in the style of Murrle, Bennett and Archibald Knox, this lovely brooch features a heart entwined with a navette shape (referred to as interlace or entrelac). It is centered by a pretty oval turquoise, and has a safety chain. Unsigned, and marked 9ct. It measures 1-1/2 x 3/4", and weighs .10oz or 2.6g. It has a nice patina, and is in excellent antique condition. Circa 1900. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse....

Highly unusual cuff links! Each has a photograph of an elegant lady in a white high-necked blouse with upswept hair. These were clearly worn a lot, based on the patina, but they still look great. The 10k marks are on the back of the fronts only, not on the “torpedo” ends. I don’t want to test the torpedoes, as it might make an obvious mark; they could be gold filled. The fronts measure 7/8” x 5/8”, the torpedoes ½” x 3/8”. The metal connecting fronts to backs is somewhat bent, but...

Here is a lovely ring, from either the early Victorian or late Georgian period, in rose gold which tests as 18k. The center stone is a ruby cut in an older style, but in excellent condition - possibly a replacement stone. It is surrounded by 8 rose cut and more randomly-cut diamonds that might be foiled, but in any case are in a closed-back setting. Typically for the period, a couple of them are chipped or have fractures. It is unmarked and has a nice patina. The ring is a size 8-1/4, and could ...

This lovely and detailed Titanic-era garland necklace features a winged heart, symbolic of love and openness. The heart has green enamel with orange highlights, and it and the wings are set with seed pearls. Above are gold curlicues, and below is a (tested) diamond dropper. It’s got a faint 10K mark on the back, but tests as 14K. The spring ring is marked 1/20 14k Gold Filled, but the chain tests for 14k, so we assume the spring ring is a replacement. The central design elements measure 1-1/2...
