Here is a splendid and wonderful locket depicting some sort of critter – I haven’t been able to decide what, exactly. He has a diamond in his mouth, and his eyes are red stones. Measuring 1-1/8”, and marked 10k, he is set up inside for 2 photographs with both celluloid and photo rings. He also sports a maker’s mark for Kroll. In excellent condition and Circa 1900. NOTE: the photos of the back show the color best...

Here is a lovely 15kt yellow gold double-cluster ring: a cluster of pearls centered by a ruby, and one of rubies centered by a diamond. It has hallmarks for Birmingham, England and 15 karat gold, a date mark for 1877, and also a maker’s mark for “P&E”. It is a size 7-1/2. One of the pearls may be a replacement, and one prong is missing. Someone used tiny amounts of glue on the pearls, though, so they are stable...

Here we have a pretty 9k yellow gold pendant. The design is Art Nouveau/Arts & Crafts. It is centered by a dark red garnet, possibly a spessartite. Garnets are the birthstone for January, and were thought to bring travelers safely home. The dangle is set with a blister pearl of a mellow off-white. There are 3 tiny seed pearls in the main setting...

This little guy is in very good condition (though the pin is slightly bent), and is set in unmarked but tested 14k rose gold. The beetle is 9/16” x 7/16” at the widest point. The whole thing is 2-3/4” long. The beetle is held firmly in place by 4 prongs. The Victorians loved to use all kinds of organic things in their jewelry, including real beetles. This particular type seems to have been a favorite. They are very collectible! I am told they are late Victorian, so probably Circa 1880...

This ring is classic and stunning – when worn, the liveliness of the stones is riveting! Demantoids from the original mines in the Ural Mountains of Russia that are this big are very, very rare. This one is slightly oval, has the diagnostic horsetail inclusions, and is of an older cut. Some of the facets are a little abraded, but its beauty is still remarkable, especially since we’ve just had the table (the top, flat, facet) re-polished...

Signed “BIGNEY” for B.O. Bigney & Co, of Attleboro, MA, this chain weighs 8.8 g or .31 oz., and measures 13-1/2". There are no hallmarks, but the chain and both findings test as a weak-ish 10kt gold. Half of the links were chased to give the gold an interesting texture. The spring ring is probably original to the chain. The swivel clasp doesn’t close entirely, but it is otherwise in excellent condition, and the whole thing is quite lovely. Victorian or Edwardian.

Here is a sweet ring, consisting of a flower made of 6 pearls (1 of which is a replacement), centered by a tiny rose cut diamond (confirmed with diamond tester). There is a compartment underneath, perhaps for storing a lock of hair, but the glass is gone. The ring tests as a very strong 14k, so it could be 15k. There is cobalt blue enameling on the shoulders, which I’ve had repaired – this ring was obviously well loved! And it’s still beautiful. Size 6. Early Victorian...

This lovely (unmarked but tested) 10kt gold jewel is from the early 1800s (around Jane Austen's time), when cannetille work was the vogue: very fine gold wires twisted into thin ropes and then formed into rosettes and whatnot. The amethyst is a lovely delicate shade, and weighs approximately 2.5 carats – it’s very deep. Amethysts are said to bring calm, help banish headaches, and protect against drunkenness. The bale is decorated very prettily...

This signed and hallmarked watch pin is really sweet! It is centered by a tiny pink enameled flower with a pearl center, and is surrounded by stylized green enameled leaves and a framework of gold. It measures 1-1/4 x 1/4". The whole thing is in excellent condition, and Circa 1910. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse. Here is a fascinating ring consisting of strands of gold tied in a kind of knot, and studded with gold balls. The decorated area measures 5/8 x ½” and the shank measures 3/16”. The ring has a maker’s mark (“J.M”), the anchor for Birmingham, the date mark for 1903-4, “9”, and “375”, however it tests as 10k. It’s approximately size 7, and weighs 5.2g or 0.19oz...

This handsome fellow is either a moose or an elk – I can’t tell the difference! His head measures 5/8 x 11/16". The gold tests at 14k. His red eye is too small to identify, so assume glass. There are marks, but I can’t read them. It weighs 1.4g or 0.05oz. and is in excellent condition. Circa 1900. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.

Here is a lovely pin from the Edwardian era. Brought to Europe by the Crusaders from St. John’s Island (Zabargard), peridot is the August birthstone, and is considered to be a stone of healing and protection. This round peridot is framed by an oval of seed pearls, set into a delicate arabesque of gold with still more seed pearls, for a total of 30 (2 are replacements). Stamped 14k on the back, with an illegible maker’s mark, it measures 1-½” x 7/16". The peridot is slightly scratched, and...

Here is a truly lovely garland necklace out of the Edwardian era, with an Art Nouveau design sensibility. It is pictured in Vivienne Becker’s “Art Nouveau Jewelry” on page 185. She describes it as having “festoons of gold chain in the Edwardian manner, set with … peridots, and decorated with shaded satin enamel, c. 1900.” It is unmarked, but tests as 14k gold. It centers an oval peridot, has several small pearls, and an accent diamond; also a dropper ending with another oval peridot....

This charm bracelet is a real show-stopper! It has 20 charms. 11 are karat gold, the others are gold fill except the coral elephant and the silver donkey. Check out the photos! The charms are a wild variety from tools to musical instruments, plus a pistol! There are a few rings where there apparently used to be charms – perfect places to add your own. The charms are hung on a modified paperclip chain marked 14k. 6 charms are articulated. A few of the charms have some damage: the watering can...

Here is a simple white gold wedding ring. It would be easy to re-size. Weighing 2.1g, it is a size 6. Marked and tested 14K, and with a nice patina. Here is a sweet little pin, measuring 7/8” across. It’s very autumnal, with leaves enameled in shades of green, yellow and orange, alternating with leaves set with 3 seed pearls each, and centering another seed pearl. The findings are original, with a neat security clasp. On the clasp is a maker’s mark consisting of an arrow with a circle at the end, probably for Robert Klitz, of New York. No hallmarks, but it tests for 14k gold. Circa 1900. Please read this description and look at the ph...

This sweet and delicate Victorian ring is made from unmarked rose gold which tests as a strong 10kt. It features 2 opals, 2 green garnet-and-glass doublets (opal is the birthstone for October; doublets are very common in Victorian jewelry), and 8 tiny seed pearls. It is a bit over a size 5-1/2. The setting measures 1/4” N and S, and ½” E and W. The maker’s mark is a Maltese Cross. The opals have a couple small chips, and I have had the setting laser soldered where there was a tiny break....
