Here is a coral garland necklace consisting of 8 coral drops (Coral was believed to prevent bad luck, and to be an aid to meditation), of graduated lengths and sizes, and a final drop on a draping chain. The three longest drops are on rigid bars. The coral is a lovely deep dark ox-blood red, very hard to capture in photos. The entire chain length is 15-1/4”, and the decorated portion is 4-1/4” x 2-1/8” at the longest point...

Here is a ring made from an Unger cuff link, with a clear maker’s mark. The decoration is a flower, possibly a poppy, and vine tendrils curling down the sides – really pretty. The cuff link portion is 13/16ths” x ½”, and the band ¼” wide. It is a size 6-1/2. In excellent antique condition with an age-appropriate patina. Note that there are camera reflections and other streaky reflections in some of the photos...

This intriguing jewel has a saint, probably St. Peter, holding a key (to the church? To heaven?), and with a bird – a dove? - in the background) on one side, and a photograph of an ecclesiastical-looking person on the other. It contains a touched relic (a bit of ribbon which has been touched to the bone or something worn by a saint), a tiny base metal medal with Mary on one side, saying "Mary conceived without sin” and more Christian imagery on the other, and a wisp of cotton...

We love this pin! The colors are so pretty, and the leafy design is so very Arts & Crafts. It consists of a leaf and berry motif, highlighted by a central cushion-cut blue chalcedony cab (thought to bring good luck), with a circular green aventurine cab on either side. Measuring 1-3/4” x 3/8", it is unmarked but tests as silver. It is in excellent condition, although the pin is a little bent. The pin stem assembly may be a replacement, but if so, it’s quite an old change. Circa 1900...

This locket is made of carved silver, with plenty of space for a monogram, should you wish. It measures 1-1/4” (without the decorative bale) by 1” wide. The bale adds a further ¼”. Stamped 925, it weighs .30oz or 8.4g, and has an age-appropriate patina. The 30” box chain is marked 925 and Italy, and weighs a further 9.0g or .31 oz. It has been well loved, and the new owner might want to have it buffed. It closes firmly...

Here is a really lovely sash buckle, designed for Tiffany by the famous George Shiebler. It is marked “Tiffany & Co,” the winged S for Shiebler, “Sterling,” and “4758.” It is 3” x 2”, with a slight curve to it, and weighs 42.2g/1.49oz. Decorated with flowers and foliate designs, it’s a beauty. (Geo. W. Shiebler & Co. were in business under that name from 1876 until almost 1915.) It came in a Tiffany fabric bag, which may be original to the piece. In excellent condition...

Here is a striking necklace featuring a central (tested) silver panel with a big labradorite cab, ¾” x 9/16”. The whole panel with dangles measures 13/16” x 1-7/8”. The dangles are set with more labradorite cabs on chains. The wearable length is 24”, and there are 20” worth of labradorite beads, many having the distinctive blue flash for which that stone is known. The clasp has a very pretty flower and leaf design, and it’s stamped 925 on the back...

This charming portrait in silver, of a wind-swept person in a cloak and hood, is very detailed and just lovely. We think it’s a boy (unusual!), as the hair seems to be quite short under the hood. The hood itself looks like a cap made from a flower, as seen on fairies in Victorian children’s books. It measures 1-1/8” wide, is hollow, and is marked “STERLING TOP GERMAN SILVER BACK”. German silver is a kind of base metal. The back is a bit tarnished, has what looks like little bubbles of...

According to some, this is St. Catherine, patroness of young maidens and female scholars. There is a (“Catherine”) wheel in the background, and a flower in the foreground. Her clothing looks very Renaissance to us. Marked “SILVER” on the C-clasp, with an illegible maker’s mark, the metal tests 90-100% silver, and she’s a dainty 7/8” in diameter. 2.5g. In excellent condition, and circa 1850. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsib...

Here is a delightful plique a jour stylized moth, most likely German or Austrian in origin. The body has 4 colorless paste stones, and there is an emerald green paste stone in the tail. The plique shades from green to white to peach. 1-1/2” by ¾”, and stamped “800” on the back. It is in excellent antique condition and circa 1900. This sweet, heavily engraved pin is from the estate of Helen Aman, who escaped from the Bolshevik Revolution to (eventually) settle in California. It was one of her childhood jewels. It consists of a bell (with a clapper – but it doesn’t actually chime) dangling from an angled bar. Marked 84 for 875 silver, it also has a partial city mark, probably for Moscow. It measures 1-3/8” x 7/8", and is in excellent antique condition, with a nice patina. Please read this description and look at th...

Here is a sterling silver fancy-link chain, from the era of the Titanic (but possibly as late as the Art Deco period – Downton Abbey!), which is interesting enough to be worn on its own, or you can could hang a pendant or watch from it. The clasp is stamped “Sterling”. It measures 26”, and the links are ¼” or 4mm wide at the widest point. It weighs 5.6g or 0.19 oz, and is in excellent condition. This striking Jugendstil or Arts & Crafts pendant is enameled in white and purple. Made from 900 silver (sterling is 925), and centered by a lovely oval amethyst which is flanked above and below by tiny seed pearls. There is a pearl dangle (which I added, as the original was missing) below an arc of textured metal. It measures 1-1/2” x 7/8” and weighs 4.7g. In overall excellent condition, there is an area on the lower left side where the enamel isn’t perfect (not noticeable without magnifi...

The mix of metals makes this sash buckle quite unusual in my experience. The silver plate shows some wear - yellow metal shows through at some of the high points. We believe the gold to be about 9kt, and it’s also a plating or overlay. The buckle measures 3 x 2-1/2" and weighs in at 47.5 grams. Unmarked. In overall very good condition, except for the few worn spots already mentioned; the gold might be a little worn in a few places too – it’s difficult to tell because of the texturing. Circ...

This necklace is such a pleasure to wear! It drapes very nicely around the neck, measuring 15-1/2” long, with a maximum of ½” in width. It is marked "DANECRAFT STERLING RFG US PAT OFF" and weighs 36.8g or 1.29 oz. In excellent condition, and we believe it was made between 1940 and 1950. The flowers are sometimes mistaken for lotuses, which is no surprise, as they are related. To Buddists, they represent resurrection, purity and enlightenment. Please read this description and look at the pho...

Here is an unusual sterling silver and enamel pendant, which comes out of the Arts & Crafts movement, spearheaded by John Ruskin and William Morris, et al. The enamel colors are associated with the women’s suffrage movement in the UK: green (Give), white (Women the), and (Vote) violet – or at least, that’s the story! The free-standing wire work (so interesting!) interlaces around the body of the piece, and holds the oval of mother of pearl in place. Another unusual aspect is the use of bro...

Here is a gorgeous sterling locket, covered with flowers. It’s on a black ribbon, but of course could be put on a chain. Measuring 1-1/2” x 1-1/2” excluding the bale, it weighs 16.8g or .60oz. In excellent condition. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.
