This sweet ring comes out of the Art Deco era of The Great Gatsby. The diamond is a very sparkly “transitional” diamond, i.e., between the older style of cutting and the modern round brilliant style. It weighs approximately .63 (or 63/100th of a carat), and is just really pretty. We don’t really know how to photograph diamonds, so the photos don’t do it justice. The diamond is set in platinum, and the ring shank is (marked) 14k gold. There is a maker’s mark which is too worn to read...

This sweet little guy has a quizzical look on his face, and is just adorable! It is unmarked, but the gold tests at about 12k. The total length is 2-1/8”, and the dog’s face is ½” x 7/16”. It weighs 0.9g. He may be a Weimaraner. They were bred as hunting dogs in the early 19th Century in Germany, and were named after the Grand Duke Weimar. In real life they are a silvery color, but this guy is a nice warm gold...

Here is a splendid and wonderful locket depicting some sort of critter – we haven’t been able to decide what, exactly. He has a diamond in his mouth, and his eyes are red stones. Measuring 1-1/8”, and marked 10k, he is set up inside for 2 photographs with both celluloid and photo rings. He also sports a maker’s mark for Kroll. In excellent condition and Circa 1900. NOTE: the photos of the back show the color best...

Here is a sweet little pin, measuring 7/8” across. It’s very autumnal, with leaves enameled in shades of green, yellow and orange, alternating with leaves set with 3 seed pearls each, and centering another seed pearl. The findings are original, with a neat security clasp. On the clasp is a maker’s mark consisting of an arrow with a circle at the end, probably for Robert Klitz, of New York. No hallmarks, but it tests for 14k gold. Circa 1900...

This ring is centered by a lovely piece of navette-shaped lapis lazuli (traditionally a stone of royalty, also signifying truth and inner strength), with specks of pyrite for a bit of sparkle. The stone measures ¾” N to S, and ¼” E to W. The setting is made of 14k yellow gold, formed into graceful curlicues. It is stamped 14k, and also has a maker’s mark, which appears to be “KBN” and also a dot in a circle. The size is between 5-1/4 and 5-1/2, and it weighs 5.5 g or .19 oz...

Here is a very Victorian pin – 9 karat rose gold (unmarked but tested), wrapped in spirals around a little branch of coral. Parts of the gold have a nice engraved design. The pin stem assembly is original. It measures 1-1/2" x 5/8". It could use a bit of a cleaning, otherwise in very good condition. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.

This lovely 15kt gold ring has 5 almondine garnets - birthstone for January - and 8 tiny green stones, most likely emeralds (their setting is closed-backed, which makes them harder to ID) – birthstone for May. The 15k (marked) setting has scrollwork along the edges, and engraved shanks. There are 2 other marks which are illegible. The stones have wear consistent with age, otherwise in very good antique condition. Approximately size 7.25, and it weighs 2.3g...

This pretty stick pin is classic Art Nouveau. It is centered by an amethyst, birthstone for February (coming right up!). Back in the day amethysts were thought to ward off drunkenness - great for the upcoming holiday season! There is a seed pearl above and one below, all mounted in a (marked and tested) 14k “whiplash” frame. Measuring ½” x 2-1/4" long, it weighs 1.5g or .05oz. There is an illegible maker’s mark...

This fantastic locket is a show stopper! The front has a lovely Egyptian lady in profile, wearing a headdress – from which a few locks of hair have escaped – and hoop earrings. She is nestled within a crescent moon (symbolic of the female principal, intuition, and new beginnings). The back has a monogram, and inside it has both photo rings, but no celluloid. That could easily be fixed with plastic. Unusually large, it measures 1-5/8”, and weighs .77 ounce. It is made of gold over silver, a...

This pair of identical rich yellow gold pins would be an excellent addition to your collection of Victorian jewelry! 1-1/4” x ¼”, they say “BEBE” on the front. They test as 9k, weigh 3.0 g, and the findings are signed “VID”. There are tiny flowers and floral designs at the edges. It looks like the findings are old replacements. One of them has 2 brownish stains on the back, otherwise in excellent condition. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we a...

This stunner is made from a magical moonstone with a cat’s eye across the top. The subtle color floats in the stone, making it mesmerizing to look at (we couldn’t do it justice in the photos). Moonstones have been symbolic of passion), but also intuition and good fortune. The setting is Celtic interlace, or “entrelac.” M, B created designs for Liberty & Co., as well as producing their own line of jewelry from 1884 – 1916. The back has M, B’s maker’s mark as well as a hallmark for 1...

This simple yet elegant ring is made from unmarked 18k yellow gold and a purplish-pink topaz. Topaz is thought to be a healing and energizing stone, to bring forgiveness, and promote truth. Sweet! The ring is a size 8, and could be resized. The topaz is set in a modified buttercup setting, with a single leaf curling up to meet the stone on either side, and delicate detail work in the gold. It’s just possible that the stone is a replacement, but if so it was very well done, and the color is ju...

These lovely earrings have nice long dangles – the entire earring measures 1-3/4 long, and the dangle is 1-5/16”. They measure just under 1/2” at the widest point. The dangles have a charming bird and flower motif. They were sold to me as 18k, but they are unmarked and I got odd test results. This could be due to their country of origin. I have been told that earrings like this pair were made during the Victorian era in Portugal and Spain, and that they are still being made in those coun...

This pretty little pin is very Art Nouveau! A lady’s face is surrounded by ribbons and flourishes, some set with seed pearls. It is gold filled, and measures 1-1/8” x 7/8”. Her nose and chin show some wear, and the metal could use brightening up a bit. The pin stem assembly is mounted in a somewhat unusual fashion – please see photos. Circa 1900. This lovely orchid was made from a richly-colored, unmarked but tested, 10kt yellow gold. It has amazing details, an Old European Cut diamond (etw .30 - .35), and a fan pearl. Weighing in at .09oz or 2.6g, it measures 1” by about 7/8”, is quite dimensional, and SO Art Nouveau! It is unmarked, but we believe it was made in Newark, NJ. It is in excellent condition, except for a minor problem with one of the petals - it is detached at its central anchor point, but is firmly attached to the pin-...

In China, the ginkgo was thought to be a symbol of longevity, peace and hope. This lovely jewel features a circle of 6 ginkgo leaves radiating out around a tiny diamond, with rows of seed pearls in between. The enamel is lovely, detailed, and subtle. It is both a brooch and a pendant. The bale is on a swivel; it folds down neatly so that it’s invisible when worn as a brooch. Unmarked but tested 14k rose gold, about 33 pearls, and an approximately .02 full cut old diamond, just slightly chipped...

Here is a lovely ring, from either the early Victorian or late Georgian period, in rose gold which tests as 18k. The center stone is a ruby cut in an older style, but in excellent condition - possibly a replacement stone. It is surrounded by 8 rose cut and more randomly-cut diamonds that might be foiled, but in any case are in a closed-back setting. Typically for the period, a couple of them are chipped or have fractures. It is unmarked and has a nice patina. The ring is a size 8-1/4, and could ...
