Here is an intriguing pin in the shape of a lyre. The gold is carved, with black enamel highlights, and dedicated to “GAO From G.V.” It measures 1-1/16” x 13/16” and weighs 3.6g or 0.13oz, with the original old pin stem assembly. Unmarked, the brooch tests as 14k, and the pin stem tests as at least 10k. In excellent condition. Here is a lovely pair of white gold-fronted double cuff links. Each end is marked WHITE GOLD FRONT BELAIS 14K; TALON GRIP TRADEMARK, and is octagonal, measuring 5/8 x 7/16”, with rigid connectors, hinged at one end. Belais Brothers were amongst the first to develop a formula for white gold (their patent was for 1917). Many think they were the premier workers in white gold, and their jewels are highly collectible...

This costume brooch is really cute. It features prong-set amber-colored rhinestones and colorless glued-in rhinestones in a roundish setting made of gold-toned metal. It makes me think of flowers and snowflakes. Unsigned, in excellent condition and 1” in diameter. This gorgeous stick pin has a central amethyst measuring 7/16” x 5/16", in a rounded-off diamond-shaped setting of a warm marked and tested 14k gold. The setting measures 9/16” x ½” and the whole thing is 2-11/16” long. It weighs 2.7g or .10oz. Circa 1900 and in excellent condition...

Here is a lovely ring, from either the early Victorian or late Georgian period, in rose gold which tests as 18k. The center stone is a ruby cut in an older style, but in excellent condition - possibly a replacement stone. It is surrounded by 8 rose cut and more randomly-cut diamonds that might be foiled, but in any case are in a closed-back setting. Typically for the period, a couple of them are chipped or have fractures. It is unmarked and has a nice patina...

Here is a sweet and colorful butterfly realized in plique a jour enamel, silver, and paste stones. Measuring 1-5/8” x 7/8”, and weighing in at 5.6 g, it is just lovely! The butterfly wings are in hues of blue, green, and pink, and it has 2 red stones for eyes. It is set with 20 colorless paste stones, 19 of which have darkened over time. The central stone is much brighter, so it may be a replacement. There are some hairline cracks in the plique enamel, as is typical, also some black spots...

This sweet ring comes out of the Art Deco era of The Great Gatsby. The diamond is a very sparkly “transitional” diamond, i.e., between the older style of cutting and the modern round brilliant style. It weighs approximately .63 (or 63/100th of a carat), and is just really pretty. I don’t really know how to photograph diamonds, so my photos don’t do it justice. The diamond is set in platinum, and the ring shank is (marked) 14k gold. There is a maker’s mark which is too worn to read...

This very beautiful and unusual ring, with a continuous wheat sheaf pattern (wheat has signified love and charity), most likely comes out of the turn of the last century, according to a jewelry historian. She also said it was probably made using a process called “die rolling.” It is marked “22ct”, “PLATINUM”, and the maker’s mark is “B’s”. Size 5-1/4 plus a little, and unfortunately it can’t be sized. 5.6 grams. It is in excellent condition, and really just fabulous...

Here is a sterling silver fancy-link chain, from the era of the Titanic (but possibly as late as the Art Deco period – Downton Abbey!), which is interesting enough to be worn on its own, or you can could hang a pendant or watch from it. The clasp is stamped “Sterling”. It measures 26”, and the links are ¼” or 4mm wide at the widest point...

Here is a very attractive locket made from white metal. It is chased on the front in a stylized pattern, and plain on the back. The inside has some scratches, I don’t know why. The photo rings and celluloid are not present. It measures 1-1/4” x 7/8" and the cool paperclip chain is a bit over 22". The back has a few dark marks which might clean up. Generally a handsome Victorian jewel. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remo...

The design of this piece is delightful and absolutely mad! It is primarily an Egyptian Revival piece, centering the Goddess Hathor (a goddess of music, dance, foreign lands and fertility who helped women in childbirth [Wikipedia]). She is wearing big earrings, and her usual headdress. She seems to have a flower in her hair, and in front of her there is greenery tied by a ribbon with a bow (laurel? Mistletoe?). The ink pots (no glass inserts) have winged hearts on them, and are surmounted by cres...

Here is a very detailed bat, wings spread wide, ready to look for dinner. In China, bats are a symbol of good luck. To Native Americans, they are symbolic of intuition, journeying, and rebirth. And then of course there’s that whole vampire thing. This bat is stamped 925 for sterling silver. It measures 2” x 1-1/8”. The 24” chain is marked 925 Italy. Together they weigh 17.8g. Roses have been symbolic of love and remembrance for centuries, as well as passion, purity, and happiness. This necklace is so elegant! Measuring 17-5/8”, the delicate chain is adorned by 3 roses, each with leaves below. They are spaced by beautifully decorated chain links, for better draping. The rest of the chain consists of a further 12 fancy links included in the chain. Each fancy link measures 7/16”, and each rose is ¾” x 5/8”. It weighs .15 oz or 4.2 g. Very feminine, with a maker...

This beautiful pendant has a very Gothic feel to it. It is centered by an amethyst with good color. Amethysts were thought to bring clarity of mind and calmness – not to mention being useful as a preventative against drunkenness! Also good for those who are over stressed – and that’s basically everybody these days, right? The stone measures 9mm x 7mm, and the whole thing measures 1-7/16” x 11/16”. North, south, east and west there are pearl-set trefoils – thus the Gothic feel – pl...

Here is a pair of earrings which we had made over from a single cuff link, made c. 1920. Recycling/upcycling at its best! My jeweler came up with an ingenious way of creating these earrings – please see the photos. The backing of each (old) peacock glass setting is marked STERLING, and the (new) ear wires are sterling as well. Each cab measures 9/16” x 5/16", and the earrings hang a total of 1-1/2” each. The cufflink was an antique, so the glass shows some abrasion, but this is unnoticeabl...

This gorgeous necklace would have looked great on Rose on the Titanic! It features 13 Madera citrines (birthstone for November; it is said to bring joy and optimism into one’s life) – 3 clusters of 3 each, and 4 set singly. The central cluster has a pearl dangle. The rose gold is marked 9ct on the clasp, but it tests as a weak 10k. No other marks. Wearable length is 18-3/4”. Excellent condition. The clasp is a little fussy, but easily replaced. Circa 1910 or earlier. Please read this descr...

This delicate pin has a water lily motif highlighted with a tiny pearl. (Water lilies are symbols of purity and enlightenment.) It is unmarked but tests as 10kt gold. It measures 1-1/8”, and weighs in at 0.04 oz. It would look lovely on a lapel or a delicate blouse. Circa 1900.
