This classic brooch features a ribbon and flower motif, with a ring of white enamel in the center. The central pearl is most probably original, but the pearl on the dangle may be a replacement (as so many are). It is marked with the French eagle for 18k gold and partial owl marks with “73”, indicating a piece that was imported into France post 1893 and assayed in the town of Rouen. There is also what looks like a blurry French maker’s mark, oddly...

Marked "9CT" and WHH for William H Haseler, and probably made to be sold by Liberty & Co, this lovely pin is highlighted by a leaf motif in red and green enamel, on an "entrelac" or interlaced frame of gold, with 3 colorless paste stones. The gold is yellow, though in places it looks rosy. It measures 1-3/8 x ½” and weighs 3.2g. The hinge has an old repair, and one of the stones has been reset. Otherwise in very good antique condition, and circa 1900 (According to V...

This beautiful pendant has a very Gothic feel to it. It is centered by an amethyst with good color. Amethysts were thought to bring clarity of mind and calmness – not to mention being useful as a preventative against drunkenness! Also good for those who are over stressed – and that’s basically everybody these days, right? The stone measures 9mm x 7mm, and the whole thing measures 1-7/16” x 11/16”...

This graceful pin depicts a sprig of lily of the valley, which symbolizes “a return to happiness,” and is frequently used in wedding bouquets. It is stamped Sterling, measures 2-1/16” x 1-1/4" and weighs 7.5g or .26oz. All the stones are present. They appear to bead set, but there might be some glue involved. It is in excellent condition. Art Deco? Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse...

This great pin from England features a large peridot (1 cm x 6 mm or 3/8” x 2/8”), and, on either side, pearl-set clover heads. Flanking those are 3 demantoids per side, plus 1 above and 1 below the peridot. PERIDOTS are the birthstone for August. They symbolize spring, youthfulness, and bring health and wealth! Off to either side is a whiplash of pearl-set gold. On the back, “15ct” is carved into the gold. The pin stem assembly is original, and it weighs .18 oz or 5.1 g...

Here is a splendid and wonderful locket depicting some sort of critter – I haven’t been able to decide what, exactly. He has a diamond in his mouth, and his eyes are red stones. Measuring 1-1/8”, and marked 10k, he is set up inside for 2 photographs with both celluloid and photo rings. He also sports a maker’s mark for Kroll. In excellent condition and Circa 1900. NOTE: the photos of the back show the color best...

Here is a very pretty brooch from the Arts & Crafts/Art Nouveau era. It features an oval purple cabochon, possibly glass, centered between two hammered leaves (very A&C), all on a very Art Nouveau framework. Marked “DEPOS” (probably meant to say “DEPOSE”), it is most likely from Germany. There are two illegible marks, one on the C-clasp, and one on the back. It tests as silver, measures 1-3/4” x 3/4", and weighs 4.4 g...

Pansies have been equated with thoughtfulness, free thinking, and deep contemplation. Thus Shakespeare’s Ophelia said "There's pansies, that's for thoughts." This little pansy is made from (tested) 10k gold, with a modern-looking 14k bale (which may be a later replacement, making the pansy itself more likely to be an older piece). The enamel shades from dark yellow through to white, with some dark details, and a (cultured?) pearl center. It measures ½” x ½”, and the chain is 16’-1/2”...

Here is a graceful yet substantial woven silver “Byzantine” bracelet. The mark is hard to read, but it might say “925” for sterling, and it tests as silver. It’s 7-1/4” long, and weighs 18.1g. This charming brooch is very pretty and wearable. Plique a jour jewels are very hard to come by these days – they are somewhat fragile, rare, and I believe that many of them are now in private collections. This lovely maple leaf pin seems to be missing one leaf. The space has been filled with a drop made of green agate, so the loss is hardly noticeable. Along the main vein of each leaf and the stem are paste accent stones, and it is centered by a faux pearl. The plique itself is in good shape,...

This lovely and detailed Titanic-era garland necklace features a winged heart, symbolic of love and openness. The heart has green enamel with orange highlights, and it and the wings are set with seed pearls. Above are gold curlicues, and below is a (tested) diamond dropper. It’s got a faint 10K mark on the back, but tests as 14K. The spring ring is marked 1/20 14k Gold Filled, but the chain tests for 14k, so I assume the spring ring is a replacement. The central design elements measure 1-1/2...

This lovely ring is composed of a cluster of 7 amethysts birthstone for February, and historically thought to guard against drunkenness and poison), and on either side of the cluster, a bezel-set accent diamond (of about I quality) and one tiny half seed pearl. The ring is approximately size 6-1/2, and would be easy to re-size. Marked 10K and signed ECI. In excellent condition, with just a bit of patina. The gold is yellow, despite looking rosy in the photos. Please read the description and loo...

This pretty little pin is very Art Nouveau! A lady’s face is surrounded by ribbons and flourishes, some set with seed pearls. It is gold filled, and measures 1-1/8” x 7/8”. Her nose and chin show some wear, and the metal could use brightening up a bit. The pin stem assembly is mounted in a somewhat unusual fashion – please see photos. Circa 1900. Here is a very pretty ring with a triangular synthetic alexandrite and 2 full-cut diamond accent stones. The stone is a steel blue in daylight, and a pretty purple in incandescent light, with teal blue flashes; it measures ¼” per side. Size 7-3/4, and easily sized. It is marked 10k and is in excellent condition – I believe it was never worn. Circa 2000. Here is a pair of earrings which I had made over from a single cuff link from about 1920. Recycling/upcycling at its best! My jeweler came up with an ingenious way of creating these earrings – please see the photos. The backing of each peacock glass setting is marked STERLING, and the ear wires are sterling as well. Each cab measures 9/16” x 5/16", and the earrings hang a total of 1-1/2” each. The cufflink was an antique, so the glass shows some abrasion, but this is unnoticeable. Please ...

This lovely item is a navette-shaped pin from the Arts & Crafts era. It measures 2-1/4 x 3/8”. It has a leaf and berries design, centered by a blister pearl of an intriguing shape. It is marked STERLING, and the pin-stem assembly is original. I have not cleaned it, so it has a nice patina and a little bit of tarnish. In excellent condition, and circa 1900.
