Here is a very pretty little perfume bottle. It has a partial mark for Sterling (and tests as such), and another partial mark “…XCO” or maybe “…AXCO”. It measures 2” x 1-1/3”, and is in excellent condition.

Here is a beautiful pie server, in the Iris pattern used by Durgin. It does not have the Durgin maker’s mark, so I can’t guarantee the maker. Regardless, it’s very lovely. It measures 9-7/8" x 1-5/8”, and weighs 79g. It’s in very good condition overall – there are a few places on the blade where the silver looks chipped (I’m assuming the blade is silver plate, though the handle is sterling, and is marked as such). Just gorgeous...

Here is an intriguing cigarette case. I believe the black pattern is done with niello enamel. It has a flower motif on both sides, and a blank space for a monogram on one side. It is marked (and tests as) Sterling silver. The piece measures 3-7/8 x 2-15/16”, and weighs in at 4.92 ounces. In excellent condition, though since the elastic is in such good condition, I’m assuming it is probably a replacement. I believe this case is pre-1920, but would welcome other opinions.

Here is a lovely and very old serving spoon with a berry motif in the gold-washed interior bowl (the wash or gilt is very pale and doesn’t show up in the photos). By its hallmarks (crowned leopard’s head, lion passant, and date letter “N” with “feathers”), it was made in London during 1768-1769. The maker’s mark is a script “BB”. It measures 8-1/2" x 1-3/4", and weighs approximately 56g. Just gorgeous! NOTE that we will only accept a check for this item. Thanks.

This inkwell is delightful and absolutely mad! It is primarily an Egyptian Revival piece, centering the Goddess Hathor (a goddess of music, dance, foreign lands and fertility who helped women in childbirth [Wikipedia]). She is wearing big earrings, and her usual headdress. She seems to have a flower in her hair, and in front of her there is a sprig of mistletoe and some other greenery tied by a ribbon with a bow...

Here is a pretty brush with repousse decorations depicting Art Nouveau lilies on its top, and fancy swirls on the handle. It measures 5-3/4” x 3". It is stamped Sterling, and there are other marks which are too worn to read. There is a little bit of damage to the silver at the top of the brush, which is shown in - and is actually exaggerated by – the photos. The handle has a plain area on both sides, ready for your monogram. On one side this area has some dings to it...

Here is a signed Durgin soup spoon in the Iris pattern. It also bears the marks for the illustrious Shreve & Company. It has a “C” monogram, measures 6-3/4” and weighs approximately 53g/1.89oz. It has a patina appropriate for its age, with a few deeper scratches. The Durgin company was founded in 1853, and purchased by Gorham in 1905. Circa 1900. (PHOTO note: please ignore the camera reflections on the bowl of the spoon.) NOTE that we will only accept a check for this item. Thanks.

Here is a silver plate serving fork made by the Niagara Falls Co. It is very pretty, with wild roses at the end of the handle, at the base of the tines, and with leaves twining up the handle. It is marked "1877 Niagara Falls Co", a stylized "e"(?), and an "8" or infinity symbol. Also "Pat. 04". It is in very good condition, with a patina of course. It measures 8-1/4" x 1-1/2", and is approx. 61g. NOTE that we will only accept a check for this item. Thanks.

This Masonic spoon is marked STERLING F.A. WHELAN. Both sides of the bowl, the hilt, and the tip are gold washed. It has lots of Masonic symbolism incorporated into the design. A client tells me that the dates on the spoon are the birth and death dates for George Washington, who was a mason, and that it is approximately 100 years old. It measures 4-1/8", and weighs 10.9g...

Here is a sweet spoon by Unger Brothers, signed with their maker’s mark and hallmark, and “COPYRIGHT 1904”. The pattern is called Jonquil. It measures 4-1/2”, and the bowl of the spoon is just short of 2” across. It has a nice patina, a monogrammed M or W and is in overall very good condition. NOTE that we will only accept a check for this item. Thanks.
