Here is an intriguing cigarette case with niello enamel. It has a flower motif on both sides, and a blank space for a monogram on one side. It is marked (and tests as) sterling silver. The piece measures 3-7/8 x 2-15/16”, and weighs in at 4.92 ounces. In excellent condition, though since the elastic is in such good condition, it may be a replacement. We believe this case is pre-1920, but would welcome other opinions. The photos are part of the description, so please examine them carefully. Th...

This heavily engraved pin is from the estate of Helen Aman, who escaped from the Bolshevik Revolution to (eventually) settle in California - it was one of her childhood jewels. It consists of a bell (with a clapper – but it doesn’t actually chime) dangling from an angled bar. Marked 84 for 875 silver, it also has a partial city mark, probably for Moscow. It measures 1-3/8” x 7/8", and is in excellent antique condition, with a nice patina. (For more of Helen’s story, contact us.) The pho...

Here is a lovely pendant, enameled in an intense blue with patches of a much lighter blue. The dropper shades from a pale green through a lighter blue into the intense blue of the main part of the jewel. The back is marked sterling silver, and the dropper is marked silver. It measures 1-3/8 x 1-3/16, and is on a new 18” sterling chain. In very good condition overall. The enamel shows a little bit of wear around the edges, and it’s possible that the enamel is chipped at the very top, center, ...

Here is a stickpin featuring a yummy burnt-orange colored oval carnelian, set in 10kt gold and surrounded by an oval of gold set with 4 seed pearls. It is marked 10kt. The setting measures 13/16” x 1/2", and the whole thing 2-3/8". The pin has a bit of a bend to it toward the top, otherwise in excellent antique condition. The photos are part of the description. Please look at them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling, and insurance within the USA included.

This is a Victorian book chain, 17” long, with two spring rings. Men: use it for your pocket watch, in true Victorian style! Ladies, you can do the same, or use it for a locket or charm or whatever you like! Each link, which looks like a little book – hence the name - has a pattern stamped or carved into it. Some links show some wear consistent with age. It weighs 17.1g and is quite charming! The photos are a part of the description. Please look at them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling...

This charm bracelet is a real show-stopper! It has 20 charms. 11 are karat gold, the others are gold fill except the coral elephant and the silver donkey. Check out the photos! The charms are a wild variety from tools to musical instruments, plus a gun! There are a few rings where there apparently used to be charms – perfect places to add your own. The charms are hung on a modified paperclip chain marked 14k. 6 charms are articulated. A few of the charms have some damage: the watering can’s ...

This beautiful piece is made from emerald-green glass and gold-toned metal. It is unmarked, but we were told it by a glass specialist that it is from England. It’s approximately 5” tall and 2-3/8” across the bottom. The gold-toned lid has cut-outs in the shape of stars – so charming! It is in excellent condition, and circa 1900. The photos are part of the description, so please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.

A gorgeous queen graces the front of this antique locket. She wears a crown with a row of 7 tiny single-cut diamonds, and one slightly larger full-cut diamond at the peak of the crown. Her hair cascades down to her shoulder, and gold disks hang from the crown. She has a little dent at about cheek bone height. The back has a monogram, possibly an S, and has several little dents. The rose gold tests at about 12k. It is 1” in diameter, and weighs 5.3 g. Some of the detailing of her hair is worn, ...

We think this guy is just adorable! The pin is unmarked, but the gold tests at about 12k. The total length is 2-1/8”, and the dog’s face is 1/2” x 7/16”. It weighs 0.9g. He may be a Weimaraner. They were bred as hunting dogs in the early 1800s in Germany, and were named after the Grand Duke Weimar. In real life they are a silvery color, but this guy is a nice warm gold. Wikipedia tells us “The Weimaraner is loyal and loving to his family, an incredible hunter, and a fearless guardian o...

This lovely navette-shaped pin from the Arts & Crafts era measures 2-1/8 x 7/16”. It has a leaf and berry design, centered by a pretty deep purple amethyst. (Amethysts are thought to bring calmness and clarity to the mind.) It is marked STERLING, and the pin-stem assembly is original. It has a nice patina. In excellent condition, and circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling, and insurance within the USA included.

Weird but wonderful, and SO Victorian! Here is a grooming chatelaine from the 1800s. It has a Chinese fish motif at the top, and dangling from that are 3 implements, a tweezers, an ear-cleaning device, and a third implement for cleaning nails. (We just saw a similar chatelaine on eBay that was advertised as a device for opium users, but we don’t think so!) It is unmarked but tests positive for silver, and with a patina consistent with age. It is lacking a belt hook, but is in excellent antique...

This lovely and very old serving spoon could have graced the dining room of any of Miss Austen’s well-to-do characters. It has a berry motif in the gold-washed interior bowl (the wash or gilt is very pale and doesn’t show up in the photos). By its hallmarks (crowned leopard’s head, lion passant, and date letter “N” with “feathers”), it was made in London during 1768-1769. The maker’s mark is a script “BB”. It measures 8-1/2" x 1-3/4", and weighs approximately 56g. Just gorgeo...

The coin tests as silver, most likely sterling. On one side we see the face of Friedrich (presumably) and his wife, a Maltese cross, and the words “FRIEDRICH * I * 1701 * WILHELM * II * 1901”, on the other side is an eagle with a crown above, and “DEUTSCHES REICH 1901 ZWEI MARK”. The rest is white metal. The swivel clasp has a mark, which looks like a plow. We haven’t been able to track it down. The coin and split ring weigh approximately .40oz, and the whole thing .94oz. The coin is 1...

Here is a lovely pin from the Edwardian era. Brought to Europe by the Crusaders from St. John’s Island (Zabargard), peridot is the August birthstone, and is considered to be a stone of healing and protection. This round peridot is framed by an oval of seed pearls, set into a delicate arabesque of gold with still more seed pearls, for a total of 30 (2 are replacements). Stamped 14k on the back, with an illegible maker’s mark, it measures 1-1/2” x 7/16" and weighs 2.0g. The peridot is slight...

Swirling flowers and a bud highlight this mixed-metal sash buckle. The silver plate shows some wear - yellow metal shows through at some of the high points. We believe the gold to be about 9kt, and it’s also a plating of some type. The buckle measures 3 x 2-1/2" and weighs in at 47.5 grams. Unmarked. In overall very good condition, except for the few worn spots already mentioned; the gold might be a little worn in a few places too – it’s difficult to tell because of the texturing. Circa 19...

This sweetheart of a ring, made recently in the Art Nouveau style, is a continual band of blue enameled flowers (each centered by a diamond), pink enameled foliage, and trails of more tiny diamonds. So pretty! Made from 18k yellow gold (and marked 18k, as well as having a maker's mark), it is has a nice weight (8.5g), yet is elegant and graceful. It contains 30 points of a carat in diamonds (just under 1/3 carat). This ring is a size 6, and is NOT resizable. The photos are part of the descriptio...

These earrings are so pretty! And they can be worn with just about anything. The citrines are set in very simple 14k gold settings and measure 6mm or 1/8” in diameter. The earrings weigh 1.1g. They are stamped 14k, and have a stylized maker’s mark which could be “MP”; they are also stamped “CZ” for some reason. I have tested the stones and they are definitely citrines. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance withi...

This charming brooch is very wearable. Plique a jour jewels are very hard to come by these days – they are somewhat fragile, rare, and I believe that many of them are now in private collections. This lovely maple leaf pin seems to be missing one leaf. The space has been filled with a drop made of green agate, so the loss is hardly noticeable. Along the main vein of each leaf and the stem are paste accent stones, and it is centered by a faux pearl. The plique itself is in good shape, with only ...
