This striking Jugendstil or Arts & Crafts pendant is enameled in white and purple. It is made from 900 silver (sterling is 925), and centered by a lovely oval amethyst which is flanked above and below by tiny seed pearls. There is a pearl dangle (which we added, as the original was missing) below an arc of textured metal. It measures 1-1/2” x 7/8” and weighs 4.7g...

Here is a nice micromosaic brooch, possibly from Italy – in the 1800s the Italians were making these pieces for the tourist trade. This one is made of red, blue, and white tesserae, and none of them are missing, which is unusual. The setting is brass, we believe, and the whole thing is 2-5/8” x 7/16". It is signed “FAP” on the back. It’s a bit dirty, and there seems to be a break in the twisted metal decoration around the edge, but it’s barely visible without magnification...

Amethysts are traditionally though to aid in clarity of mind, putting the wearer in touch with their intuitions, and helping to cure headaches – and they are famous for aiding in sobriety! This large amethyst should be a great help, measuring 10mm across. It is set in a framework of leaves that bring to mind the Arts and Crafts era, with another leaf on the bale, and a fringe of tiny seed pearls dangles below. It is marked and tested 14k gold and weighs 1.8g...

Here is a set composed of cufflinks made from 2 large oval (¾” x ½”) peacock glass cabs set in textured circles of gold-toned metal measuring just under 1” across, and a tie tack made from a smaller cab (3/8” x ¼”), also set in gold-toned metal. The set was probably made in the 1950s or ‘60s, although the peacock glass itself is probably from the early 20th C. Unmarked and in excellent condition...

This gorgeous stickpin depicts a lovely woman in profile with a pearl nestled in her curls. Marked 14k, it’s made from yellow gold, and signed by the maker. It measures 2-3/8”, and weighs 2.0g or .07 oz. The pin is slightly bent, and the back is dented a little, but this doesn’t detract from the beauty of this enchanting jewel. Historical note: Mr. Blank of Whiteside & Blank was a Titanic survivor! Circa 1900...

Emeralds (birthstone for May) have been thought to preserve love, and bring wisdom. These sweet bright green emerald earrings are unmarked, but the gold tests as 14k. They are 13/16” long, and the buttercup settings measure ½” across. The stones measure 5-1/2mm across. I believe the ear wires used to have hooks to slip into, but those are gone and the stubs filed down and smoothed over for comfort. One of the emeralds is chipped in the back, but both stones face up very well...

It is marked "DANECRAFT STERLING RFG US PAT OFF" and weighs 36.8g or 1.29 oz. In excellent condition, and we believe it was made between 1940 and 1950. The flowers are lotuses (which are a type of water lily). To Buddists, they represent resurrection, purity and enlightenment...

Here is a sweet pin consisting of an oval front made from porcelain or china, and painted with pinkish-brownish flowers – roses? – and greenery. It has a border of gold, and is mounted on a backing of gold-toned metal. It measures 2-1/2” x 1-7/8”, and weighs 41.6g or 1.46oz. The C-Clasp is a bit bent, but that doesn’t have any effect on its wearability, and otherwise it is in very good antique condition. Here is a shield-shaped sorority pin (9/16 x ½”), with 16 tiny seed pearls set around the perimeter, and 3 colored stones. The 2 upper stones are emerald green, the bottom one is sapphire blue. They are too tiny to identify with certainty. The shield is crossed by a band of white enamel bisecting a background of black enamel. On the band are the Greek letters Kappa Phi, and in gold on one side is a candle stick and on the other is a flower. On the back it is engraved with what looks like a s...
