Perfect for Valentine’s Day! Ruby is the birthstone for July, and symbolizes love, devotion, and immortality. Pearls symbolize purity and harmony. What a great combination for these pretty earrings! They are marked 375 for 9 karat gold, although they test as 10k. The hanging flower basket motif is quite charming! They contain a total of 16 rubies and 18 seed pearls. The total length is 1-7/8”, and together they weight 4.3g...

We love this pin! The colors are so pretty, and the leafy design is so very Arts & Crafts. It consists of a leaf and berry motif, highlighted by a central cushion-cut blue chalcedony cab (thought to bring good luck), with a circular green aventurine cab on either side. Measuring 1-3/4” x 3/8", it is unmarked but tests as silver. It is in excellent condition, although the pin is a little bent. The pin stem assembly may be a replacement, but if so, it’s quite an old change. Circa 1900...

This is a totally sweet pair of little Victorian earrings! The earrings are gold filled, but the wires are 14k, and go through the ear from the back (normal for that time period). The earrings are centered by tiny blue stone cabochons, probably turquoise. The cabs are set within little golden flowers. Measuring 7/8” from the top of the wires to the bottom of the cone-shaped dangles, by 5/16” at the widest point, they weigh .9g...

This very sparkly stunner has 2 big paste stones (7/16”), 2 smaller ones (1/4”), and 8 small accent stones (there should be 9, but one is missing), set in white metal. The whole thing measures 2” x 9/16”. Stamped “Czechoslov” on the back, it is in overall good condition: the stones have a couple chips, and a little abrasion, but the stones are so sparkly it’s hard to spot these. The clasp is bent over a bit, but still works just fine. We believe it’s circa 1920...

This ring is centered by a lovely piece of navette-shaped lapis lazuli (traditionally a stone of royalty, also signifying truth and inner strength), with specks of pyrite for a bit of sparkle. The stone measures ¾” N to S, and ¼” E to W. The setting is made of 14k yellow gold, formed into graceful curlicues. It is stamped 14k, and also has a maker’s mark, which appears to be “KBN” and also a dot in a circle. The size is between 5-1/4 and 5-1/2, and it weighs 5.5 g or .19 oz...

This gorgeous old Victorian brooch is in the shape of a love knot, and was most likely a wedding gift to a bride. It consists of 50 old-cut diamonds, 5 rubies, and 3 pearls, all mounted on silver-topped rose gold. Weighing in at 5.7 g, it measures 1-3/4” x 7/8”...

Here is a cheerful bow brooch, made from blue and turquoise plique a jour with twisted wire work running through it. The colors in the photographs may be deceptive, depending on your computer monitor. The enamel over the wire spirals is turquoise, and the rest is a medium blue. Measuring 1-1/4” x 7/8", it weighs .11 oz or 3.1g. On the back it is marked with “800”, and an illegible (maker’s?) mark; we believe it is Italian. The silver on the front has a gold wash...

Attributed to Juliana, this pin is set with rhinestones in purple, pink and two tones of blue, in what looks and feels like pewter. It measures 2” x 1-1/2” and weighs 0.96oz or 27g. The large stones are prong set in open-back settings, the smaller are glued into closed-back settings...

These lovely earrings have nice long dangles – the entire earring measures 1-3/4 long, and the dangle is 1-5/16”. They measure just under 1/2” at the widest point. The dangles have a charming bird and flower motif. They were sold to me as 18k, but they are unmarked and I got odd test results. This could be due to their country of origin. I have been told that earrings like this pair were made during the Victorian era in Portugal and Spain, and that they are still being made in those coun...

Here is a striking necklace featuring a central (tested) silver panel with a big labradorite cab, ¾” x 9/16”. The whole panel with dangles measures 13/16” x 1-7/8”. The dangles are set with more labradorite cabs on chains. The wearable length is 24”, and there are 20” worth of labradorite beads, many having the distinctive blue flash for which that stone is known. The clasp has a very pretty flower and leaf design, and it’s stamped 925 on the back. The beads are on knotted string,...

This pendant is enameled in two shades of blue, with a pearl dangle. The front is composed of 3 panels of enamel, and the outer ones are in the shape of sweet stylized hearts, in dark blue. The center is a lighter color, and the back is a lovely sky blue. Overall it is in very good condition, though the enamel on the back shows a small amount of wear on the high points. It measures 2” from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pearl. Unmarked. C. 1900. Comes with a 19-1/2” silver chain, n...

Here is a sweet, simple stickpin with a design based on a Japanese family crest. It is marked “k20” on the back. The flower head measures ½ x 7/8”, and the whole pin is 2-1/2” long. It weighs 2.4g. The pin is a bit bent, not surprisingly given the high gold content (please see photos), otherwise in excellent condition. Circa 1900. Measuring 2-1/8” x 1", and weighing 7.8g or .28oz., it is in excellent condition. It is stamped “sterling” and has unknown makers marks. Circa 1950s. This lovely orchid was made from a richly-colored, unmarked but tested, 10kt yellow gold. It has amazing details, an Old European Cut diamond (etw .30 - .35), and a fan pearl. Weighing in at .09oz or 2.6g, it measures 1” by about 7/8”, is quite dimensional, and SO Art Nouveau! It is unmarked, but we believe it was made in Newark, NJ. It is in excellent condition, except for a minor problem with one of the petals - it is detached at its central anchor point, but is firmly attached to the pin-...

Here is a pair of highly unusual cuff links! Each has a photograph of an elegant lady in a white high-necked blouse with upswept hair. These were clearly worn a lot, based on the patina, but they still look great. The 10k marks are on the back of the fronts only, not on the “torpedo” ends. We didn’t test the torpedoes, as it could make an obvious mark, so they could be gold filled. The fronts measure 7/8” x 5/8”, the torpedoes ½” x 3/8”. The metal connecting fronts to backs is som...

Here is a pretty sterling buckle with a floral motif. The plique is red, 2 different blues, and green. It is signed with a “JK” above another “JK” in a box. It has marks for London, 1886, and a duty mark. Measuring 3-1/8” x 2-1/4", it weighs 32.7g or 1.16 oz. It’s in quite good condition. The plique has a few hairlines and some bubbles, neither of which is uncommon. The red and blue plique is dark, so it’s not very visible in the photo. The red plique appears to have some very fine...
