This beautiful piece is made from emerald-green glass and gold-toned metal. It is unmarked, but we were told it was from England. It’s approximately 5” tall and 2-3/8” across the bottom. The gold-toned lid has cut-outs in the shape of stars. It is in excellent condition, and circa 1900. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.

We think this guy is just adorable! The pin is unmarked, but the gold tests at about 12k. The total length is 2-1/8”, and the dog’s face is ½” x 7/16”. It weighs 0.9g. He may be a Weimaraner. They were bred as hunting dogs in the early 1800s in Germany, and were named after the Grand Duke Weimar. In real life they are a silvery color, but this guy is a nice warm gold...

Weird but wonderful, and SO Victorian! Here is a grooming chatelaine from the 1800s. It has a Chinese fish motif at the top, and dangling from that are 3 implements, a tweezers, an ear-cleaning device, and a third implement for cleaning nails. (We just saw a similar chatelaine on eBay that was advertised as a device for opium users.) It tests positive for silver, but is unmarked and with a patina consistent with age. It is lacking a belt hook, but is in excellent antique condition...

This lovely navette-shaped pin from the Arts & Crafts era measures 2-1/8 x 7/16”. It has a leaf and berry design, centered by a pretty deep purple amethyst. (Amethysts are thought to bring calmness and clarity to the mind.) It is marked STERLING, and the pin-stem assembly is original. It has a nice patina. In excellent condition, and circa 1900. Please take care in reading this description and looking at the photos, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse...

This sweetheart of a ring, made recently in the Art Nouveau style, is a continual band of blue enameled flowers (each centered by a diamond), pink enameled foliage, and trails of more tiny diamonds. So pretty! Made from 18k yellow gold (and marked 18k, as well as having a maker's mark), it is has a nice weight (8.5g), yet is elegant and graceful. It contains 30 points of a carat in diamonds (just under 1/3 carat). This ring is a size 6, and is NOT resizable...

These earrings are so pretty, and go with just about everything. The citrines are set in very simple 14k gold settings and measure 6mm or 1/8” in diameter. The earrings weigh 1.1g. They are stamped 14k, and have a stylized maker’s mark which could be “MP”; they are also stamped “CZ” for some reason. I have tested the stones and they are definitely citrines. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse...

The coin tests as silver, most likely sterling. On one side we see the face of Friedrich (presumably) and his wife, a Maltese cross, and the words “FRIEDRICH * I * 1701 * WILHELM * II * 1901”, on the other side is an eagle with a crown above, and “DEUTSCHES REICH 1901 ZWEI MARK”. The rest is white metal. The swivel clasp has a mark, which looks like a plow. We haven’t been able to track it down. The coin and split ring weigh approximately .40oz, and the whole thing .94oz...

This lovely and very old serving spoon could have graced the dining room of any of Miss Austen’s well-to-do characters. It has a berry motif in the gold-washed interior bowl (the wash or gilt is very pale and doesn’t show up in the photos). By its hallmarks (crowned leopard’s head, lion passant, and date letter “N” with “feathers”), it was made in London during 1768-1769. The maker’s mark is a script “BB”. It measures 8-1/2" x 1-3/4", and weighs approximately 56g...

This charming brooch is very wearable. Plique a jour jewels are very hard to come by these days – they are somewhat fragile, rare, and I believe that many of them are now in private collections. This lovely maple leaf pin seems to be missing one leaf. The space has been filled with a drop made of green agate, so the loss is hardly noticeable. Along the main vein of each leaf and the stem are paste accent stones, and it is centered by a faux pearl. The plique itself is in good shape, with only ...

This extremely cool and highly collectable brooch depicts 5 turbaned “blackamoors.” Made from (unmarked, tested) 14k rose gold, and black and white enamel, the details are picked out in gold (their eyes, mouths, collars and turbans). There is a partial hallmark on the pin, and old repair to the pin stem assembly (invisible from the front), and some damage to the black enamel, especially the two outer figures’ noses and the chin of the rightmost figure. The pin weighs 6.0g or .21oz, and it ...

Here is a fascinating ring consisting of strands of gold tied in a knot, and studded with gold balls. One ball is missing, which makes it pleasantly asymmetrical. The decorated area measures 5/8 x ½” and the shank measures 3/16”. The ring has a maker’s mark (“J.M”), the anchor for Birmingham, the date mark for 1903-4, “9”, and “375”, however it tests as 10k. It’s approximately size 7, and weighs 5.2g or 0.19oz. In places the gold looks yellow, and I’m not sure if that’s ...

Here is a lovely pin from the Edwardian era. Brought to Europe by the Crusaders from St. John’s Island (Zabargard), peridot is the August birthstone, and is considered to be a stone of healing and protection. This round peridot is framed by an oval of seed pearls, set into a delicate arabesque of gold with still more seed pearls, for a total of 30 (2 are replacements). Stamped 14k on the back, with an illegible maker’s mark, it measures 1-½” x 7/16" and weighs .07oz or 2.0g. The peridot i...

This sweet ring comes out of the Art Deco era of The Great Gatsby. The diamond is a very sparkly “transitional” diamond, i.e., between the older styles of cutting and the modern round brilliant style. It weighs approximately .63 (or 63/100th of a carat), the color is in the JKL range, and it is just really pretty. We don’t really know how to photograph diamonds, so the photos don’t do it justice. The diamond is set in platinum, and the ring shank is (marked) 14k gold. There is a maker’...

Here is a very sweet little pin signed by Hermann & Speck, well-known jewelers of Pforzheim, Germany. It is centered by a blue sapphire, and there is a pearl dangle. It is marked 333 for 8k gold (we hadn’t seen that before!), but when we tested it, it held for 10k. It is also marked “Depose,” which translates roughly as “patent.” It measures 1-7/16” x 1" including the pearl dangle, and weighs 2.5g/.08oz. In excellent condition, and circa 1900. Please read this description and look a...

The mix of metals makes this sash buckle quite unusual in my experience. The silver plate shows some wear - yellow metal shows through at some of the high points. We believe the gold to be about 9kt, and it’s also a plating of some type. The buckle measures 3 x 2-1/2" and weighs in at 47.5 grams. Unmarked. In overall very good condition, except for the few worn spots already mentioned; the gold might be a little worn in a few places too – it’s difficult to tell because of the texturing. Ci...

Here is a graceful yet substantial woven silver “Byzantine” bracelet. The mark is hard to read, but it might say “925” for sterling, and it tests as silver. It’s 7-1/4” long, and weighs 18.1g. In excellent condition. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse. Thanks! Here is a very attractive locket made from white metal. It is chased on the front in a stylized pattern, and plain on the back. The inside has some scratches, we don’t know why. The photo rings and celluloid are not present. It measures 1-1/4” x 7/8" and the cool paperclip chain is a bit over 22". The back has a few dark marks which might clean up. Generally a handsome Victorian jewel. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer rem...

Here is a sweet Victorian pin with the cross, anchor, and heart, symbols of faith, hope and charity. It has really nice detail work in the metal. Unmarked, but apparently made with a layer of gold on top of a layer of copper. The center of the heart is set with a (faux?) seed pearl, and the cross is set with 11 tiny turquoise-colored cabs – they are too tiny for a definite ID. It measures 1-3/16 x 7/8". The gold shows wear here and there, and it has a nice age patina, but overall in quite good...
