Highly unusual cuff links! Each has a photograph of an elegant lady in a white high-necked blouse with upswept hair. These were clearly worn a lot, based on the patina, but they still look great. The 10k marks are on the back of the fronts only, not on the “torpedo” ends. I don’t want to test the torpedoes, as it might make an obvious mark; they could be gold filled. The fronts measure 7/8” x 5/8”, the torpedoes ½” x 3/8”...

This little guy is in very good condition (though the pin is slightly bent), and is set in unmarked but tested 14k rose gold. The beetle is 9/16” x 7/16” at the widest point. The whole thing is 2-3/4” long. The beetle is held firmly in place by 4 prongs. The Victorians loved to use all kinds of organic things in their jewelry, including real beetles. This particular type seems to have been a favorite. They are very collectible! I am told they are late Victorian, so probably Circa 1880...

This classy brooch highlights a large amethyst with a circle of seed pearls, surrounded by an enameled key pattern. Marked 14k, and signed by the Riker Bros. of Newark, NJ, it measures 1-3/16” x 13/16” and weighs 8.0g or .28oz...

This charming portrait in silver, of a wind-swept person in a cloak and hood, is very detailed and just lovely. I tend to think it’s a boy, as the hair seems to be quite short under the hood. The hood itself almost looks more like a cap made from a flower, as seen on fairies in those Victorian children’s books. It measures 1-1/8” wide, is hollow, and is marked “STERLING TOP GERMAN SILVER BACK”. German silver is a kind of base metal...

Here is a Victorian book chain, 17” long, with two spring rings. They can accommodate a locket or charm or whatever you like! Each link has a little pattern stamped or carved into it. Here is a sweet Victorian pin with the cross, anchor, and heart, symbols of faith, hope and charity. It has really nice detail work in the metal. I believe it is made from a layer of gold on top of a layer of copper. The center of the heart is set with a (faux?) seed pearl, and the cross is set with 11 tiny turquoise-colored cabs – they are too tiny for a positive ID. It measures 1-3/16 x 7/8"...

So much symbolism in this pretty jewel! It depicts a crescent moon – symbol of the female principal, intuition and new beginnings; an arrow – symbol of Sagittarius, swiftness, the rays of the sun, knowledge, and sexual attraction (think of Cupid’s bow); and a 5-pointed star, symbolic of so many things I don’t even want to start! It is set with 11 turquoises (birthstone for December, believed to be good for healing, focus, etc.) and one seed pearl. It tests as 14k gold...

This sweet, heavily engraved pin is from the estate of Helen Aman, who escaped from the Bolshevik Revolution to (eventually) settle in California. It was one of her childhood jewels. It consists of a bell (with a clapper – but it doesn’t actually chime) dangling from an angled bar. Marked 84 for 875 silver, it also has a partial city mark, probably for Moscow. It measures 1-3/8” x 7/8", and is in excellent condition...

This coin bracelet made it out of Russia during the Bolshevik Revolution, along with the silver bell pin which I also have listed on Trocadero. It consists of 24 coins, dating from 1893 – 1910, but most of them are from 1905. The wearable length is 7-1/8”, and it weighs .93 oz, or 26.3 g. I’ve cleaned off some tarnish, but it could be cleaned more should the new owner desire it.

Here is a signed bracelet by the famous David Andersen Company of Norway. It consists of rectangular panels of cobalt blue guilloche enamel, alternating with square panels of palest green enamel centered by cobalt blue flowers. It is marked “925 S”, “D-A”, “NORWAY STERLING”, and a scale, indicating a jewel made between 1925 and the present. It measures 7-3/4" x 1/2". Weird but wonderful, and SO Victorian! Here is a grooming chatelaine from some time in the 1800s – very hard to put a more specific age to this. It has a Chinese fish motif at the top, and dangling from that are 3 implements, a tweezers, an ear-cleaning device, and a third implement for cleaning nails.
