This lovely jewel features a circle of 6 ginkgo leaves radiating out from a small diamond, with rows of seed pearls in between. The enamel is lovely, detailed, and subtle. It is both a brooch and a pendant. The bale is on a swivel; it folds down neatly so that it’s invisible when worn as a brooch. Unmarked but tested 14k rose gold, about 33 pearls, and an approximately .02 full cut old diamond, slightly chipped. The jewel measures 1-1/16” in diameter and weighs 5.7g. The enamel might be slig...

This sweet jewel consists of a circle of gold enameled in deep blue, with gold highlights. Through it is tied a 3-looped bow, decorated with tiny seed pearls, as are the bail and drop. There are a few places where the enamel appears to have been applied imperfectly, and a couple very tiny chips, but these very minor flaws are visible only with magnification. It is stamped 15kt gold, but there is a place on the back where it looks as though someone made a repair using rose gold. The pendant measu...

Although this jewel is English, it reflects the aesthetics of fin de siècle Russia, with its pink topazes and demantoid garnets. The fairly large topazes are surrounded by swirls of seed-pearl-set gold, and set off by 4 bright green demantoid garnets, 2 of which are set into the fine chains which connect the top section to the bottom; of the other 2, the top one is a modified pear shape, the other oval. It measures 2” long by 1-1/8” across at the widest point, and weighs 5.4g. In overall ex...

This pretty stick pin is classic Art Nouveau. It is centered by an amethyst, birthstone for February (coming right up!). Back in the day amethysts were thought to ward off drunkenness, as well as being a cure for headaches (we see a theme here!). There is a seed pearl above and one below, all mounted in a (marked and tested) 14k “whiplash” frame. Measuring 1/2” x 2-1/4" long, it weighs 1.5g. There is an illegible maker’s mark. The pin has become curved, but could be straightened out ea...

Here is an attractive locket made from white metal. It is chased on the front in a stylized pattern, and plain on the back. The inside has some scratches, we don’t know why. The photo rings and celluloid are not present. It measures 1-1/4” x 7/8" and the cool paperclip chain is a bit over 22". The back has a few dark marks which might clean up. Generally a handsome Victorian (or possibly Edwardian) jewel. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping...

This striking jewel tests as at least 14k. It is set with what we believe is an iolite, and 4 pear-shaped purple garnets, all foiled, all set within an Etruscan Revival motif of coiling decorated gold ropes and leaves. It is graced with two gold dangling chains. The brooch measures 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 x 3/4" deep and weighs 8.7g. With the chains, the whole piece measure 2-1/2” long. The pin stem assembly appears to be all original. There is one tiny hole in the gold, which is not visible from the fr...

This simple yet elegant ring is made from unmarked 18k yellow gold and a purplish-pink topaz. Topaz is thought to be a healing and energizing stone, to bring forgiveness, and promote truth. Sweet! The ring is a size 8, and could be resized. The topaz is set in a modified buttercup setting, with a single leaf curling up to meet the stone on either side, and delicate detail work in the gold. It’s just possible that the stone is a replacement, but if so it was very well done, and the color is ju...

We think this guy is just adorable! The pin is unmarked, but the gold tests at about 12k. The total length is 2-1/8”, and the dog’s face is 1/2” x 7/16”. It weighs 0.9g. He may be a Weimaraner. They were bred as hunting dogs in the early 1800s in Germany, and were named after the Grand Duke Weimar. In real life they are a silvery color, but this guy is a nice warm gold. Wikipedia tells us “The Weimaraner is loyal and loving to his family, an incredible hunter, and a fearless guardian o...

This lovely slide bracelet has 11 (10K & 14k) gold slides, some of which have opals and seed pearls and what looks like coral. The central slide depicts a beautiful Art Nouveau flower. The clasp is gold filled or 9k, the gold paperclip chain tests as 10k, but the round beads are hard to test beyond confirming that they are gold. One slide has a 14k hallmark and a maker’s mark, and one other has a maker’s mark, which looks like an oak leaf. It weighs in at 16.6g. It is about 7-1/2” long, 7...

These lovely earrings have nice long dangles – the entire earring measures 1-3/4 long, and the dangle is 1-5/16”. They measure just under 1/2” at the widest point. The dangles have a charming bird and flower motif. They are black enamel and gold plate. I have been told that earrings like this pair were made during the Victorian era in Portugal and Spain, and that they are still being made in those countries today. These look old to me, but in excellent condition. The photos are part of t...

This lovely ring is composed of a cluster of 7 amethysts, birthstone for February (and historically thought to guard against drunkenness and poison), and on either side of the cluster, a bezel-set accent diamond (of about I clarity) and one tiny half seed pearl. The ring is approximately size 6-1/2, and would be easy to re-size. Marked 10K and signed ECI. In excellent condition, with just a bit of patina. The gold is yellow, despite looking rosy in the photos. The photos are part of the descrip...

Here is a sweet little pin, measuring 7/8” across. Its leaves are enameled in shades of green, yellow and orange, alternating with leaves set with 3 seed pearls each, and centering another seed pearl. The findings are original, with a neat security clasp. On the clasp is a maker’s mark consisting of an arrow with a circle at the end, probably for Robert Klitz, of New York. No hallmarks, but it tests for 14k gold. Circa 1900. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefu...

We love this pin! The colors are so pretty, and the leafy design is so very Arts & Crafts. It consists of a leaf and berry motif, highlighted by a central cushion-cut blue chalcedony cab (thought to bring good luck), with a circular green aventurine cab on either side. Measuring 1-1/4” x 3/8", it is unmarked but tests as silver. It is in excellent condition, although the pin is a little bent. The pin stem assembly may be a replacement, but if so, it’s quite an old repair. Circa 1900. The pho...

This young girl is so sweet! Shown in profile, with flowers in her hair and more beneath, she is mounted in hallmarked and tested 18k gold. There is a gold foliate wreath, fastened with a ribbon, gracefully draped across the lower part of the cameo. The pin stem assembly has a trombone catch. The bale folds down when worn as a brooch. It measures 2-1/4 x 1-7/8", and is in excellent condition. We believe it was created using the ultrasonic method of carving. The photos are part of the descriptio...

These 10kt yellow gold cuff links sport an ivy motif – one of our favorites! Ivy is symbolic of growth, marriage, and friendship. The decorated ends measure ¾” x ½”, and they weigh 3.2g. Unmarked, they test at 10k, and we believe them to be from the Art Nouveau period. In excellent condition, and just lovely. The photos are part of the description so please examine them carefully. Here is a sweet spoon by Unger Brothers, signed with their maker’s mark and hallmark, and “COPYRIGHT 1904”. The pattern is called Jonquil. Jonquil is the flower for those born in March, representing happiness and friendship. It measures 4-1/2”, and the bowl of the spoon is just short of 2” across. We love this necklace! It features a central (tested) silver panel with a big labradorite cab, 3/4” x 9/16”. The whole panel with dangles measures 13/16” x 1-7/8”. The dangles are set with more labradorite cabs on chains. The wearable length is 24”, and there are 20” worth of labradorite beads, many having the distinctive blue flash for which that stone is known. The clasp has a very pretty flower and leaf design, and it’s stamped 925 on the back. The beads are on knotted string, a...

This pretty ring comes out of the era when Edwardian styles were sliding into Art Deco. It is marked “925” for sterling silver, and set with a pretty ruby, birthstone for July. Rubies have been called “the queen of stones and the stone of kings.” The ring has the mellow patina of age, and is size 6. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully.
