Here is a lovely young lady, nicely realized in 14k (marked and tested) yellow gold. She is shown in profile against a textured oval background. Her hair curls around at the base of the oval, and her bangs are in slight disarray – charming! She measures 1/2” x 3/8”, with an overall length of 2-1/4”. 1.4 g. She could be cleaned up a bit – we leave that to the new owner to decide. Circa 1900 and in excellent condition. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefu...

Worn but pretty lady stick pin. I believe her to be brass with a gold wash, which is largely gone. Her hair ends in a row of sparkly stones; I’m not sure what they are, and one of them was glued in crookedly. Head and stones measure 5/8” x 3/8”, total length is 2-9/16”. Circa 1920s. NOTE that we will only accept a check for this item. Thanks.

We love this ring, which is perfect for St. Paddy’s day! A luscious green, surrounded by Celtic interlaced enamel. A chalcedony center stone, thought by Native Americans to promote harmony and good will and reminiscent of high quality jade, is surrounded by red and green enamel on the setting. The shank has Celtic interlace decoration (also called entrelac), highlighted with more red and green enamel. It is just slightly smaller than size 6, and the top measures 13/16” x 5/8”. It is stampe...

Here is a very pretty starburst pin/necklace, made from 14k gold (marked and tested), set with seed pearls, and with an old European cut diamond in the center. It has a maker’s mark in the shape of a Maltese cross. Measuring 1-1/8”, it weighs 6g. The bail folds down nicely for wearing as a necklace. The 18” chain is gold filled, and not original to the piece. It comes with an antique dark blue velvet box. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! Ship...

This beautiful pendant has a very Gothic feel to it. It is centered by an amethyst with good color, which measures 9mm x 7mm, and the whole thing measures 1-7/16” x 11/16”. North, south, east and west there are pearl-set trefoils – hence the Gothic feel – plus a dangle with a further pearl-set trefoil, and a larger pearl dangle. It is unmarked, but tests 10k. It is on a 20” yellow gold-filled chain, marked 1/20-12, but the rest of the mark is cut off. In excellent condition. Amethysts...

Here is a coral garland necklace consisting of 8 coral cabs of graduated lengths and sizes, and final drops on a draping chain. The three longest drops are on rigid bars. The coral is a lovely deep dark ox-blood red, very hard to capture in photos. Coral was believed to prevent bad luck, and to be an aid to meditation. The entire chain length is 15-1/4”, and the decorated portion is 4-1/4” x 2-1/8” at the longest point. The chain bears the mark for silver jewels imported into Austro-Hungar...

The Charles Horner company of Halifax was renowned for beautiful silver and enamel Arts & Crafts jewelry. This moth pin is sterling silver with blue and turquoise enamel and is 1 3/4" wide. It is fully hallmarked, for Chester, England, 1908, and carries the Charles Horner maker's mark.

Here is a cheerful bow brooch, made from blue and turquoise plique a jour with twisted wire work running through it. The colors in the photographs may be deceptive, depending on your computer monitor - the enamel over the wire spirals is turquoise, and the rest is a medium blue. Measuring 1-1/4” x 7/8", it weighs 3.1g. On the back it is marked with “800”, and an illegible (maker’s?) mark; we believe it is Italian. The silver on the front has a gold wash. The plique has some hairlines run...

Here is a lapel pin of Shriners or Masonic symbolism: a crescent moon with a sword or scimitar. It is set with 12 single cut diamonds. It has a screw back, and an additional prong, which we assume is to anchor the pin so it doesn’t rotate. The original finding or fitting is stamped 14, and all the yellow gold tests as 14k. The top metal is almost certainly white gold. It measures 3/4”, the finding is 5/8”, and the whole thing weighs 2.4g. In excellent condition. The photos are part of the...

Although this jewel is English, it reflects the aesthetics of fin de siècle Russia, with its pink topazes and demantoid garnets. The fairly large topazes are surrounded by swirls of seed-pearl-set gold, and set off by 4 bright green demantoid garnets, 2 of which are set into the fine chains which connect the top section to the bottom; of the other 2, the top one is a modified pear shape, the other oval. It measures 2” long by 1-1/8” across at the widest point, and weighs 5.4g. In overall ex...

This intriguing locket has a saint, probably St. Peter, holding a key (to the church? To heaven?), and with a bird – a dove? - in the background) on one side. On the other is a photograph of an ecclesiastical-looking person. It contains a touched relic (a bit of ribbon which has been touched to a saint’s bone or something worn by a saint), a tiny metal medal with Mary on one side, saying "Mary conceived without sin” and more Christian imagery on the other, and a wisp of cotton. Wouldn’t ...

This elegant lady is made from 14k gold – there is a partial mark, so we tested it. Her face is framed by a stylized shell motif, and she has flowers and a diamond in her upswept hair, as well as another diamond nestled in her décolletage. This watch pin or brooch is of hollow construction, and weighs 4.7g. It measures 1” x 1-1/4”. The pin stem assembly is original. Her face is a little worn in the high places, and the back has darkened in a couple places. Also on the back there is a scra...

This ring is one of our absolute favorites – and would make a great engagement ring for a woman who wants something a bit different. The central diamond is approximately 20 points (1/5 of a carat, but looks bigger), set in platinum. The rest of the setting is made of unmarked but tested 14k gold of a lovely rich yellow. There are 4 tiny rubies and 3 tiny demantoid garnets. It’s very hard to identify the 4th green stone, due the size and setting, but it is mostly likely another demantoid. The...

Here is a truly lovely garland necklace out of the Art Nouveau/Edwardian era. It is pictured in Vivienne Becker’s “Art Nouveau Jewelry” on page 185. She describes it as having “festoons of gold chain in the Edwardian manner, set with peridots, and decorated with shaded satin enamel, c. 1900.” It is unmarked, but tests as 14k gold. It centers an oval peridot, has several small pearls, and an accent diamond; also a dropper ending with another oval peridot. (Peridot is the birthstone for...

Here is a lovely sterling buckle with a floral motif highlighted with plique a jour (translucent enamel). These buckles with plique are quite unusual. The plique is red, two different shades of blue, and green. It is signed with a “JK” above another “JK” in a box. It has marks for London, 1886, and a duty mark. Measuring 3-1/8” x 2-1/4", it weighs 32.7g or 1.16 oz. It’s in quite good condition. The plique has a few hairlines and some bubbles, which is common. The red and blue plique ...

This pair of identical rich yellow gold pins would be an excellent addition to your collection of Victorian jewelry! 1-1/4” x 1/4”, they say “BEBE” on the front. They test as 9k, weigh 3.0 g, and the findings are signed “VID”. There are tiny flowers and floral designs at the edges. It looks like the findings are old replacements. One of them has 2 brownish stains on the back, otherwise in excellent condition. (Also note that the findings are basically safety pins, so if you're intere...

Created in the shape of an arrow head, this wonderful stickpin features a sparkly cognac diamond of approximately 10 points. Above and below the diamond are 2 lovely (cultured?) golden pearls. It weighs a satisfying 2.3g of unmarked but tested 14k yellow gold, which has been hammered to enhance the “arrow head” look. Gorgeous! It measures 1/2” x 7/16” x 2-1/2" long. In excellent condition. This fantastic locket is a show stopper! The front has a lovely Egyptian woman or girl in profile, wearing a headdress, from which a few locks of hair have escaped, and hoop earrings. She is nestled within a crescent moon (symbolic of the female principal, intuition, and new beginnings). The back has a monogram, and inside it has both photo rings, but no celluloid. That can easily be fixed with plastic. Unusually large, it measures 1-5/8”, and weighs .77 ounce. It is made of gold over silver, ...
