Here is a stickpin featuring a yummy burnt-orange colored oval carnelian, set in 10kt gold and surrounded by an oval of gold set with 4 seed pearls. It is marked 10kt. The setting measures 13/16” x 1/2", and the whole thing 2-3/8". The pin has a bit of a bend to it toward the top, otherwise in excellent antique condition. Most likely Victorian or Edwardian. This lady is a charmer, and her costume looks like it’s straight out of the Renaissance. She gazes at a flower, but what is that behind her? Looks like a ships’ wheel, or perhaps a spinning wheel. Marked “SILVER” on the C-clasp, the metal tests 90-100% silver, and she’s a dainty 7/8” in diameter. Illegible maker’s mark. In excellent condition, and circa 1850. This classic brooch features a ribbon and flower motif, with a ring of white enamel in the center. The central pearl is most probably original, but the pearl on the dangle may be a replacement (as so many are). It is marked with the French eagle for 18k gold and partial owl marks with “73”, indicating a piece that was imported into France post 1893 and assayed in the town of Rouen. Here is a cheerful bow pin or brooch, made from blue and turquoise plique a jour with twisted wire work running through it. The colors in the photographs may be deceptive, depending on your computer monitor. The enamel over the wire spirals is turquoise, and the rest is a medium blue. Measuring 1-1/4” x 7/8", it weighs .11 oz or 3.1g. On the back it is marked with “800”, and an illegible (maker’s?) mark; it’s possibly Italian. The silver on the front has a gold wash...

This pretty little pin is very Art Nouveau! A lady’s face is surrounded by ribbons and flourishes, some set with seed pearls. It is gold filled, and measures 1-1/8” x 7/8”. This circle pin is a real find! It is composed of 900 silver (sterling is 925), with spiraling double lines of tiny seed pearls alternating with blue stones (likely garnet & glass doublets). The back is engraved with a sinuous design, and has a mark for Pest, Hungary, between 1872 and 1922 - the year The Great Gatsby was written! It measures 1-5/8”, and weighs 15.4g or .54 oz. The pin is a little bent, as is the C-clasp, otherwise in excellent condition, and circa 1920...

Here is a lovely ring, which could have graced the finger of a lady on the Titanic, or on the set for the Great Gatsby. It is marked “925” for sterling silver, and set with a pretty ruby. Signed “BIGNEY” for B.O. Bigney & Co, of Attleboro, MA, this chain weighs 8.8 g or .31 oz., and measures 13-1/2". There are no hallmarks, but the chain and both findings test as a weak-ish 10kt gold. Half of the links were chased to give the gold an interesting texture. The spring ring is probably original to the chain. The swivel clasp doesn’t close entirely, but it is otherwise in excellent condition, and the whole thing is quite lovely. Victorian or Edwardian.

Here is a very pretty ring with a triangular synthetic alexandrite and 2 full-cut diamond accent stones. The stone is a steel blue in daylight, and a pretty purple in incandescent light, with teal blue flashes; it measures ¼” per side. Size 7-3/4, and easily sized.
