This lovely ring is composed of a cluster of 7 amethysts, birthstone for February, and historically thought to guard against drunkenness and poison), and on either side of the cluster, a bezel-set accent diamond (of about I quality) and one tiny half seed pearl. The ring is approximately size 6-1/2, and would be easy to re-size. Marked 10K and signed ECI. In excellent condition, with just a bit of patina. The gold is yellow, despite looking rosy in the photos...

This ring is one of our absolute favorites – and would make a great Valentine’s Day gift! The central diamond is approximately 20 points (1/5 of a carat, but looks bigger), set in platinum. The rest of the setting is made of unmarked but tested 14k gold of a lovely rich yellow. There are 4 tiny rubies and 3 tiny demantoid garnets. It’s very hard to ID the 4th green stone, due the size and setting, but it is mostly likely another demantoid. It’s a size 6, and weighs 2.1g...

This pair of identical rich yellow gold pins would be an excellent addition to your collection of Victorian jewelry! 1-1/4” x ¼”, they say “BEBE” on the front. They test as 9k, weigh 3.0 g, and the findings are signed “VID”. There are tiny flowers and floral designs at the edges. It looks like the findings are old replacements. One of them has 2 brownish stains on the back, otherwise in excellent condition...

Here is a splendid and wonderful locket depicting some sort of critter – we haven’t been able to decide what, exactly. He has a diamond in his mouth, and his eyes are red stones. Measuring 1-1/8”, and marked 10k, he is set up inside for 2 photographs with both celluloid and photo rings. He also sports a maker’s mark for Kroll. In excellent condition and Circa 1900. NOTE: the photos of the back show the color best...

Here is a sweet pin consisting of an oval front made from porcelain or china, and painted with pinkish-brownish flowers – roses? – and greenery. It has a border of gold, and is mounted on a backing of some kind of base metal. It measures 2-1/2” x 1-7/8”, and weighs 41.6g or 1.46oz. The C-Clasp is a bit bent, but that doesn’t have any effect on its useability, and otherwise it is in very good antique condition...

In China, the ginkgo was thought to be a symbol of longevity, peace and hope. This lovely jewel features a circle of 6 ginkgo leaves radiating out around a tiny diamond, with rows of seed pearls in between. The enamel is lovely, detailed, and subtle. It is both a brooch and a pendant. The bale is on a swivel; it folds down neatly so that it’s invisible when worn as a brooch. Unmarked but tested 14k rose gold, about 33 pearls, and an approximately .02 full cut old diamond, just slightly chipped...

Here is an intriguing pin in the shape of a lyre. The gold is carved, with black enamel highlights, and dedicated to “GAO From G.V.” It measures 1-1/16” x 13/16” and weighs 3.6g or 0.13oz, with the original old pin stem assembly. Unmarked, the brooch tests as 14k, and the pin stem tests as at least 10k. In excellent condition. Here is a pair of highly unusual cuff links! Each has a photograph of an elegant lady in a white high-necked blouse with upswept hair. These were clearly worn a lot, based on the patina, but they still look great. The 10k marks are on the back of the fronts only, not on the “torpedo” ends. We didn’t test the torpedoes, as it could make an obvious mark, so they could be gold filled. The fronts measure 7/8” x 5/8”, the torpedoes ½” x 3/8”. The metal connecting fronts to backs is som...

This sweet ring comes out of the Art Deco era of The Great Gatsby. The diamond is a very sparkly “transitional” diamond, i.e., between the older styles of cutting and the modern round brilliant style. It weighs approximately .63 (or 63/100th of a carat), the color is in the JKL range, and it is just really pretty. We don’t really know how to photograph diamonds, so the photos don’t do it justice. The diamond is set in platinum, and the ring shank is (marked) 14k gold. There is a maker’...

This really pretty Art Nouveau framework emphasizes a lovely square-cut tourmaline (said to aid in self confidence and compassion). Below the stone is a Tudor rose, or possibly a wild rose. A little white pearl completes it. It is marked 14k, with an illegible maker’s mark. It measures ½” x 5/8" and the whole thing is 2-1/2" long. It weighs 2.9g including the gold-filled clutch. In excellent condition and C. 1900. The Tudor rose is a combination of the white rose of York and the red rose...

Here is a lovely pin from the Edwardian era. Brought to Europe by the Crusaders from St. John’s Island (Zabargard), peridot is the August birthstone, and is considered to be a stone of healing and protection. This round peridot is framed by an oval of seed pearls, set into a delicate arabesque of gold with still more seed pearls, for a total of 30 (2 are replacements). Stamped 14k on the back, with an illegible maker’s mark, it measures 1-½” x 7/16" and weighs .07oz or 2.0g. The peridot i...

The coin tests as silver, most likely sterling. On one side we see the face of Friedrich (presumably) and his wife, a Maltese cross, and the words “FRIEDRICH * I * 1701 * WILHELM * II * 1901”, on the other side is an eagle with a crown above, and “DEUTSCHES REICH 1901 ZWEI MARK”. The rest is white metal. The swivel clasp has a mark, which looks like a plow. We haven’t been able to track it down. The coin and split ring weigh approximately .40oz, and the whole thing .94oz. The coin is 1...

Amethysts are traditionally though to aid in clarity of mind, putting the wearer in touch with their intuitions, and helping to cure headaches – and they are famous for aiding in sobriety! This large amethyst should be a great help, measuring 10mm across. It is set in a framework of leaves that bring to mind the Arts and Crafts era, with another leaf on the bale, and a fringe of tiny seed pearls dangles below. It is marked and tested 14k gold and weighs 1.8g. I believe it was made during the 1...
