Here is a pretty sterling buckle with a floral motif. The plique is red, 2 different blues, and green. It is signed with a “JK” above another “JK” in a box. It has marks for London, 1886, and a duty mark. Measuring 3-1/8” x 2-1/4", it weighs 32.7g or 1.16 oz. It’s in quite good condition. The plique has a few hairlines and some bubbles, both of which are typical. The red and blue plique is dark, so it’s not very visible in the photo...

Weird but wonderful, and SO Victorian! Here is a grooming chatelaine from sometime in the 1800s – very hard to put a more specific age to this. It has a Chinese fish motif at the top, and dangling from that are 3 implements, a tweezers, an ear-cleaning device, and a third implement for cleaning nails. (We just saw a similar chatelaine on eBay that was advertised as a device for opium users.) It tests positive for silver, but is unmarked and with a patina consistent with age...

These two fierce dragons look like they are facing off for battle! The locket measures 1-1/8”, not including the bale. It is accented with 4 paste stones, 1 red, 2 blue, and 1 colorless. It is unmarked, gold filled, and shows the patina of age. The back has a 3-letter monogram. Inside it is completely ready for 2 photos, and actually has one – a Victorian lady. Circa 1900. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse...

Here is a pretty brush with repousse decorations depicting Art Nouveau lilies on its top, and fancy swirls on the handle. It measures 5-3/4” x 3". It is stamped Sterling, and there are other marks which are illegible. There is a little bit of damage to the silver at the top of the brush, which is shown in - and is actually exaggerated by – the photos. The handle has a plain area on both sides, ready for your monogram. On one side this area has some dings to it...

Here is a splendid and wonderful locket depicting some sort of critter – we haven’t been able to decide what, exactly. He has a diamond in his mouth, and his eyes are red stones. Measuring 1-1/8”, and marked 10k, he is set up inside for 2 photographs with both celluloid and photo rings. He also sports a maker’s mark for Kroll. In excellent condition and Circa 1900. NOTE: the photos of the back show the color best...

Amethysts are traditionally though to aid in clarity of mind, putting the wearer in touch with their intuitions, and helping to cure headaches – and they are famous for aiding in sobriety! This large amethyst should be a great help, measuring 10mm across. It is set in a framework of leaves that bring to mind the Arts and Crafts era, with another on the bale, and a fringe of tiny seed pearls dangles below. It is marked and tested 14k gold and weighs 1.8g...

This great pin from England features a large peridot (1 cm x 6 mm or 3/8” x 2/8”), and, on either side, pearl-set clover heads. Flanking those are 3 demantoids per side, plus 1 above and 1 below the peridot. PERIDOTS are the birthstone for August. They symbolize spring, youthfulness, and bring health and wealth! Off to either side is a whiplash of pearl-set gold. On the back, “15ct” is carved into the gold...

Here is a fascinating ring consisting of strands of gold tied in a kind of knot, and studded with gold balls. The decorated area measures 5/8 x ½” and the shank measures 3/16”. The ring has a maker’s mark (“J.M”), the anchor for Birmingham, the date mark for 1903-4, “9”, and “375”, however it tests as 10k. It’s approximately size 7, and weighs 5.2g or 0.19oz. In places the gold looks yellow, and I’m not sure if that’s intentional or caused by aging, or...? Overall in exc...

This sweet lady is made of unmarked but tested 18k yellow gold. Spangled with 8 tiny diamonds (the birthstone for April), and with her hair swept up into a bun with whispy tendrils of hair around her ears, she is just charming! She measures 1” x 1”, and weighs 2.5g. The gold is a little worn at the high points, and we had the ring repaired, as it was worn very thin – someone clearly loved this jewel! On the back, it looks as though someone made a groove for testing the gold. Otherwise in v...

Here is an interesting pair of identical pins from the Art Nouveau era. They feature a woman’s face flanked by flowers; their hair is greenish! I have been unable to determine what the metal is, so assume base metal. They measure 1-1/4” x ½”. The pin stem assemblies are old, but they may be replacements. Circa 1900. Ancient Greeks though amber was sunshine which had solidified and fallen to earth – how romantic! Here are some satisfyingly chunky amber earrings, made from heat-treated amber, with ear wires which test as a gold wash or vermeil. Total hanging length is 2-2/8”. Being amber, they are fairly light compared to their size: 8.5g. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsible for buyer remorse. Thanks! This sweet little ring is perfect for stacking, or wearing by itself. Made from unmarked but tested 14k yellow gold, with a line of 3 rose-cut Bohemian garnets alternating with 2 pearls or half pearls, it is quite charming. According to some, this is St. Catherine, patroness of young maidens and female scholars. There is a (“Catherine”) wheel in the background, and a flower in the foreground. Her clothing looks very Renaissance to us. Marked “SILVER” on the C-clasp, with an illegible maker’s mark, the metal tests 90-100% silver, and she’s a dainty 7/8” in diameter. 2.5g. In excellent condition, and circa 1850. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are not responsib...

Here is a sky-blue enamel pendant with blue enamel dropper. It tests as silver, most likely Sterling. It has two shades of light blue enamel on the front, highlighted by silver flourishes and dots. The dropper is also enameled in shaded hues of blue. The enamel continues on the back in sky blue – so lovely! Excluding the bale, it is 1-1/2” long by just under ¾” across. There are two tiny areas of enamel damage on the back, and a few areas that could use some cleaning, but otherwise it is ...
