We love this necklace! It features a central (tested) silver panel with a big labradorite cab, 3/4” x 9/16”. The whole panel with dangles measures 13/16” x 1-7/8”. The dangles are set with more labradorite cabs on chains. The wearable length is 24”, and there are 20” worth of labradorite beads, many having the distinctive blue flash for which that stone is known. The clasp has a very pretty flower and leaf design, and it’s stamped 925 on the back. The beads are on knotted string, a...

This gorgeous stick pin features an amethyst measuring 7/16” x 5/16", in a rounded-off diamond-shaped setting made from a warm 14k gold (marked and tested). The setting measures 9/16” x 1/2” and the whole thing is 2-11/16” long. It weighs 2.7g. Circa 1900 and in excellent condition. AMETHYSTS are thought to be spiritual stones, aiding in meditation; also good for curing headaches. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Thanks! This sweet lady is made of unmarked but tested 18k yellow gold. Spangled with 8 tiny diamonds (the birthstone for April), and with her hair swept up into a bun with whispy tendrils of hair around her ears, she is just charming! She measures 1” x 1”, and weighs 2.5g. The gold is a little worn at the high points, and we had the ring repaired, as it was worn very thin – someone clearly loved it a lot! On the back, it looks as though someone made a groove for testing the gold. Otherwise in exc...

Here is a sky-blue enamel pendant with blue enamel dropper. It tests as silver, most likely Sterling. It has two shades of light blue enamel on the front, highlighted by silver flourishes and dots. The dropper is also enameled in shaded hues of blue. The enamel continues on the back in sky blue – so lovely! Excluding the bale, it is 1-1/2” long by just under ¾” across. There are two tiny areas of enamel damage on the back, and a few areas that could use some cleaning, but otherwise it is ...

This pretty stick pin is classic Art Nouveau. It is centered by an amethyst, birthstone for February (coming right up!). Back in the day amethysts were thought to ward off drunkenness, as well as being a cure for headaches (we see a theme here!). There is a seed pearl above and one below, all mounted in a (marked and tested) 14k “whiplash” frame. Measuring 1/2” x 2-1/4" long, it weighs 1.5g. There is an illegible maker’s mark. The pin has become curved, but could be straightened out ea...

This intriguing locket has a saint, probably St. Peter, holding a key (to the church? To heaven?), and with a bird – a dove? - in the background) on one side. On the other is a photograph of an ecclesiastical-looking person. It contains a touched relic (a bit of ribbon which has been touched to a saint’s bone or something worn by a saint), a tiny metal medal with Mary on one side, saying "Mary conceived without sin” and more Christian imagery on the other, and a wisp of cotton. Wouldn’t ...

Ruby is the birthstone for July, and symbolizes love, devotion, and immortality. Pearls symbolize purity and harmony. What a great combination for these pretty earrings! They are marked 375 for 9 karat gold, although they test as 10k. The hanging flower basket motif is quite charming! They contain a total of 16 rubies and 18 seed pearls. The total length is 1-7/8”, and together they weight 4.3g. As usual with older earrings, it’s possible that the wires are replacements. In excellent condi...

This lovely slide bracelet has 11 (10K & 14k) gold slides, some of which have opals and seed pearls and what looks like coral. The central slide depicts a beautiful Art Nouveau flower. The clasp is gold filled or 9k, the gold paperclip chain tests as 10k, but the round beads are hard to test beyond confirming that they are gold. One slide has a 14k hallmark and a maker’s mark, and one other has a maker’s mark, which looks like an oak leaf. It weighs in at 16.6g. It is about 7-1/2” long, 7...

This simple yet elegant gold washed lavalier evokes both the Nouveau and the Deco eras with its design. It measures 1-3/8” without the bale, and ½” at the widest point. It features 3 dark purple stones, which may be glass – we couldn’t identify them with certainty. The top stone’s facets are somewhat abraded, and there is wear to the metal. Circa 1920. The photos are part of the description, so please examine them with care. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance free within the USA.

This heavily engraved pin is from the estate of Helen Aman, who escaped from the Bolshevik Revolution to (eventually) settle in California - it was one of her childhood jewels. It consists of a bell (with a clapper – but it doesn’t actually chime) dangling from an angled bar. Marked 84 for 875 silver, it also has a partial city mark, probably for Moscow. It measures 1-3/8” x 7/8", and is in excellent antique condition, with a nice patina. (For more of Helen’s story, contact us.) The pho...

Here we have a very pretty Charles Horner enameled pendant. It has Horner’s maker’s mark, as well as hallmarks for Chester, 1909-10. The enamel is a lovely mix of green and blue in 3 panels, with a blister pearl mounted at the top and a freshwater pearl dangle. It measures 1-5/8” not including the bale, by 1” at the widest point. The modern sterling chain is 18”. The enamel is in perfect condition, but there is a tiny chip to the blister pearl, which doesn’t even show up in the enla...

This stunner is made from a magical moonstone with a cat’s eye across the top. The subtle color floats in the stone, making it mesmerizing to look at (we couldn’t do it justice in the photos). Moonstones have been symbolic of passion, but also intuition and good fortune. The setting is Celtic interlace, or “entrelac.” M, B created designs for Liberty & Co., as well as producing their own line of jewelry from 1884 – 1916. The back has M, B’s maker’s mark as well as a hallmark for 15...

Here is an intriguing cigarette case with niello enamel. It has a flower motif on both sides, and a blank space for a monogram on one side. It is marked (and tests as) sterling silver. The piece measures 3-7/8 x 2-15/16”, and weighs in at 4.92 ounces. In excellent condition, though since the elastic is in such good condition, it may be a replacement. We believe this case is pre-1920, but would welcome other opinions. The photos are part of the description, so please examine them carefully. Th...

This Edwardian/Art Nouveau necklace would make a wonderful Valentine’s Day gift – and perfect for a bride! Both the size and the pearl and diamond dangle make it unusual. It measures 1-1/4” at the widest point, and from the top-most diamond to the bottom of the dropper it is 2-1/4”. The dropper is a dogtooth pearl, 11/16” long, which has a collar of gold around it, set with 3 tiny diamonds, and swirls of gold holding 4 more little pearls! Wow! The main section features 3 more tiny diam...

Here is a sweet spoon by Unger Brothers, signed with their maker’s mark and hallmark, and “COPYRIGHT 1904”. The pattern is called Jonquil. Jonquil is the flower for those born in March, representing happiness and friendship. It measures 4-1/2”, and the bowl of the spoon is just short of 2” across. It has a nice patina, a monogrammed M or W and is in overall very good condition. The photos are part of the description; please examine them carefully. Shipping, handling & insurance within ...

This Masonic-themed spoon is marked STERLING F.A. WHELAN. Both sides of the bowl, the hilt, and the tip are gold washed. It has lots of Masonic symbolism incorporated into the design. The dates on the spoon handle (1732-1799) are the birth and death dates for George Washington, who was a Mason. We were told that the spoon is approximately 100 years old. It measures 4-1/8", and weighs 10.9g. There is a tiny shallow scratch in the metal of the bowl, in the upper right corner of photo number 2, 1/1...

This classic brooch, in the style of Lucien Gautrait, features a ribbon and flower motif, with a ring of white enamel in the center. The central pearl is probably original, but the pearl on the dangle may be a replacement (as so many are). It is marked with the French eagle for 18k gold and partial owl marks with “73”, indicating a piece that was imported into France post 1893 and assayed in the town of Rouen. There is also what looks like a blurry French maker’s mark, so we find the marks...

This lovely and very old serving spoon could have graced the dining room of any of Miss Austen’s well-to-do characters. It has a berry motif in the gold-washed interior bowl (the wash or gilt is very pale and doesn’t show up in the photos). By its hallmarks (crowned leopard’s head, lion passant, and date letter “N” with “feathers”), it was made in London during 1768-1769. The maker’s mark is a script “BB”. It measures 8-1/2" x 1-3/4", and weighs approximately 56g. Just gorgeo...
