Marked "9CT" and WHH for William H Haseler, and most likely made to be sold by Liberty & Co, this lovely pin features a leaf motif in red and green enamel, on an "entrelac" or interlaced frame of gold, with 3 colorless paste stones. The gold is yellow, though in places it looks rosy. It measures 1-3/8 x ½” and weighs 3.2g. The hinge has an old repair, otherwise in very good antique condition, and circa 1900 (According to V...

Here is one of my favorite lavaliers! I’m finally putting it up for sale after hoarding it for ages. It is quintessential Art Nouveau: a graceful and elegant shape with a flower and whiplash motif. The central amethyst weighs approximately ½ carat, and it is graced by 28 seed pearls. Feng Shui practitioners believe amethysts aid in purification, and give access to a higher plane of energy. Unmarked but tested 14k rose gold, it weighs 3.3g and measures 1” x 1” at the widest points...

Attributed to Juliana, this pin is set with rhinestones in purple, pink and two tones of blue, in what looks and feels like pewter. It measures 2” x 1-1/2” and weighs 27g. The large stones are prong set in open-back settings, the smaller are glued into closed-back settings. Two stones are missing, but it’s not obvious. Juliana was a line of jewelry created by DeLizza & Elster, between 1968 and 1969. This jewel is unsigned, which is fairly typical of the Juliana jewels...

Here is a sweet ring, consisting of a flower made of 6 pearls (1 of which is a replacement), centered by a tiny rose cut diamond. There is a compartment underneath, perhaps for storing a tiny lock of hair, but the glass is gone. The ring tests as a very strong 14k, so it is probably 15k. There is cobalt blue enameling on the shoulders, which we’ve had repaired – this ring was obviously well loved, and it’s still beautiful. Size 6. Early Victorian. Please read this description and look at t...

Although this jewel is English, it reflects the aesthetics of fin de siècle Russia, with its pink topazes and demantoid garnets. The fairly large topazes are surrounded by swirls of seed-pearl-set gold, and set off by 4 bright green demantoid garnets, 2 of which are set into the fine chains which connect the top section to the bottom; of the other 2, the top one is a modified pear shape, the other oval. It measures 2” long by 1-1/8” across at the widest point, and weighs 5.4g. In overall ex...

Here is a beautiful ring which is unsigned, but very much in the style of Bernard Instone, one of the Arts & Crafts era jewelers. He made frequent use of leaves-as-prongs in his ring settings, and as was the way with the A&C movement, he didn’t use precious stones much, so he could keep prices down. This ring is made from sterling silver and set with a blue-green “Swiss lapis” (dyed quartz) which measures approximately ¾” x 9/16”. The size is 5-1/2, however due to the construction it...

This gorgeous stickpin depicts a lovely woman in profile with a pearl nestled in her curls. Marked 14k, it’s made from yellow gold, and signed by the maker. It measures 2-3/8”, and weighs 2.0g or .07 oz. The pin is slightly bent, and the back is dented a little, but this doesn’t detract from the beauty of this enchanting jewel. Historical note: Mr. Blank of Whiteside & Blank was a Titanic survivor! Circa 1900. Please read this description and look at the photos very carefully, as we are ...

Here is a very pretty starburst pin/necklace, made from 14k gold (marked and tested), seed pearls, and with an old European cut diamond in the center. It is in excellent condition, overall, but with a very small ding to the upper left edge, and very tiny pitting in the enamel, which isn’t visible without a loupe.
