| Here is an intriguing cigarette case. I believe the black pattern is done with niello enamel. It has a flower motif on both sides, and a blank space for a monogram on one side. It is marked (and tests as) Sterling silver. The piece measures 3-7/8 x 2-15/16”, and weighs in at 4.92 ounces. In excellent condition, though since the elastic is in such good condition, I’m assuming it is probably a replacement. I believe this case is pre-1920, but would welcome other opinions.
