This gorgeous brooch depicts a red poppy in full bloom, with leaves and buds. It was made by the well-known and very collectible Bippart Griscomb & Osborn of Newark, New Jersey. Their maker’s mark is on the back, as well as a 14k stamp. Measuring 1” x 1-1/4”, it has the long pin stem often found on antique pieces. It has a pearl mounted at the top, and another dangling below. Poppies have symbolized sleep, peace, and resurrection. They are also worn to commemorate those who have fallen in battle. In excellent condition. Circa 1900. The photos are a part of the description, so please examine them carefully. Thanks! Shipping, handling & insurance within the USA included.
