| Here we have a pretty 9k yellow gold pendant. It shows a bit of Edwardian or Victorian influence, with its 3 tiny seed pearls in their flower settings, but the design is very much Arts & Crafts. It is centered by a dark red garnet, possibly a spessartite. The dangle is set with a blister pearl of a mellow grayish white. It is hallmarked “9ct”, and the attached chain is marked “375 9k” (which is odd – possibly the chain was made somewhere other than the USA or the UK?). The pendant measures 1-5/16" x 7/8", and the total length of the chain with the pendant is 16-3/4". The piece is in excellent condition, however the garnet has a chip on the bottom right edge. It also has a couple fractures that reach the bottom surface of the stone. I believe it is stable, though (generally, if a stone survives being set, it is just fine unless it gets hit hard). Circa 1910. | ||
