| Everything is right about this delicate and sweet English jewel. It consists of a circle of gold enameled in deep blue, with gold highlights. Over, around and through is tied a 3-looped bow, decorated with tiny seed pearls, as are the bail and drop. There are a few places where the enamel appears to have been applied less than perfectly, but it is in excellent condition. It is a rich 15kt gold, and is marked as such. It measures just over 1-1/2” x 1” wide. I don’t know how to date this piece, as this type of motif has been in use on and off for a long time. However, the English used 15 karat gold from 1854-1932, and I don’t believe this would have been any later than the early Edwardian era, so most likely between 1854 and 1910. | ||
