| Dramatic Victorian brooch with two round black onyxes. This is at least 14 karat gold, is centered by a baroque or freshwater pearl, and has two draping chains to highlight a central dogs-tooth pearl dangle. Further decorated by swirls and ropes of gold. It measures 1-11/16 x 1-1/4”, and the chains and dangle add another inch (so it’s 2-1/4” long in total). It is in excellent condition. It is just possible that the catch and pin stem assembly are replacements, but if so, the repair was done very well. Circa late 1800s. | ||
