| This wonderful pair of unused and long stored away American pillow cases might remind you of your grandmother's handwork. These cases were obviously made at home of a crisp cotton and then cross stitched and embroidered in beautiful shades of purple,gold, and green ! And then there's the lace! I have literally pored over this lace, trying to find a beginning or end,and it seems to have been crocheted right onto the case. You can still see the transfer pattern marks under the stitching, which is very neat...perfect tiny french knots! This pair is just Perfect! The photos show them to be a creamy color,but they are very white (including the lace)except for slight storage marks across the fold, which will disappear with laundering. I chose not to launder them myself as they are in original condition. But I will if you want me to! I Love laundering and especially ironing linens.....NOT clothes and NOT new linens ! 21" X 30" Circa 1940 | ||
